Communication from the Department of Finance, dated October 20, 2010, re:
forwarding various financial statements of the City of Livonia for the month ending
September 30, 2010.
CONSENT AGENDA
1. REQUEST FOR DESIGNATION AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION: Bruce
Rosen, Director, Livonia Travel Baseball, Vice President of Livonia Baseball and
Softball Association, re: as required by the State of Michigan to obtain a
Charitable Gaming License to allow them to host a Texas Hold-Em event to raise
funds for their organization.
2. REQUEST FOR DESIGNATION AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION: Lt.
Gregory Winn, Livonia Police Honor Guard, re: to obtain a Charitable Gaming
License as required by the State of Michigan to conduct charitable gaming
activities in conjunction with a dinner and an auction to raise funds to defray the
costs of their annual trip to Washington, D.C. for National Police Memorial Week
(May 13-15, 2011).
3. REQUEST TO APPROVE ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION AND
EXPENDTIURE: Engineering Division, re: for construction engineering costs in
connection with various road improvements and traffic signal modernization on
Newburgh Road, from Laurel Park Drive north to Seven Mile Road, until Federal
funding becomes available for reimbursement. (CR 297-10)

4. COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE – Meeting of November 23, 2010
a. The subject of extending the contract with Branch Tree Service, Inc. for
the 2011 Municipal Tree Trimming Program. (CR 360-10)
b. Petition 94-12-2-35 submitted by Jack M. Freij requesting to utilize an
SDD license for an existing store located within the Merri-Five Shopping
Center, on property located on the north side of Five Mile Road, between
Merriman Road and Bainbridge Avenue, in the Southwest ¼ of Section
14. (CR 146-95)
c. Petition 99-2-8-8 submitted by Phoenix Land Development requesting site
plan approval in connection with a proposal to construct commercial
buildings on property located at 33330 Plymouth Road (Rosedale Town
Square), in the Southwest ¼ of Section 27, and the proposed use of the
balance of the George Burns Theatre property. (CR 254-99)
d. The general issue of SMART - for tracking purposes. (CR 364-02)
e. Subject matter of the proposed relocation of the Northville cider mill
(Parmenter’s) to the Greenmead property. (CR 466-03)
f. The request for an additional payment from the City to The Senior Alliance
in the amount of $17,000.00 per year for the years 2005, 2006 and 2007 –
for tracking purposes. (CR 550-04)
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
5. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE LIVONIA CODE OF ORDINANCES, AS
AMENDED: Department of Law, re: to Section 380 of Title 13, Chapter 20
(Livonia Sewage Disposal System) to provide for enforcement of the prohibition
on discharging hazardous waste into the City sewers.
6. LANGUAGE CHANGE: Petition 2010-07-06-01 submitted by the City Planning
Commission pursuant to Council Resolution 225-10 and Section 23.01(a) of
Zoning Ordinance No. 543, as amended, to determine whether or not to amend
Subsections (b) and (d) of Section 18.42A (Wireless Communication Facilities) of
Article XVIII to better insure that operators and colocators do not have radio
frequency (RF) energy emissions or other detrimental field output and to require
colocators and operators to notify the Inspection Department of changes in
ownership and contact information.
