MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON REZONING PETITIONS

On October 21, 2002, the above hearing was at the City Hall, 33000 Civic
Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by Council President
Engebretson at TOO p m Present: Don Knapp, Maureen Miller Brosnan, Linda
M Dolan, Joe Laura, Gerald Taylor and Jack Engebretson Absent: Val
Vandersloot.
Pursuant to Section 23 06 of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance,
the City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the
hearing date to those persons affected by the proposed change and all other
requirements of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance have been fulfilled
Council President Engebretson stated that in accordance with the
provisions set forth in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921,
as amended, the City Zoning Act (MSA 5.2934, MCLA 125 584), as well as
Article XXII of Ordinance 543, as amended, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is holding a public hearing relevant to
rezoning requests
1 Petition 2002-06-01-09 submitted by Eddie Ayyash requesting to
rezone property located on the west side of Wayne Road between
Ann Arbor Trail and Edward Hines Drive in the Southwest 1/4 of
Section 33 from C-1 to R-8 (Local Business to High Rise Multiple
Family Residential); and

2 Petition 2002-07-01-10 submitted by Henry Mark Stein and
Jacalyn Newman Simon requesting to rezone property located on
the east side of Newburgh Road between Five Mile and Ladywood
Roads (15552 Newburgh Road) in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 17
from R-2A to OS (One Family Residential — 70' x 120' Lots to Office
Services)
There were eighteen (18) individuals present in the audience on these
matters
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due
consideration by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the Office of the
City Clerk.
The Public Hearing was adjourned at 7 40 p m , Monday, October 21,
2002
