MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON NECESSITY REGARDING PROPOSED
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR NORFOLK
AVENUE FROM 150 FEET WEST OF MELVIN AVENUE TO OPORTO AVENUE,
AND OPORTO AVENUE FROM NORFOLK AVENUE TO 400 FEET NORTH OF
NORFOLK AVENUE IN THE NORTHEAST '/. OF SECTION 2, AS MODIFIED
TO INCLUDE A CUL-DE-SAC TO THE NORTHERNMOST PROPERTY ON
THE WESTERN SIDE OF PROPOSED OPORTO. (CR 625-99)
On October 20, 1999, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33000 Civic Center
Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by President Engebretson at 7.00 p m.
Present: John Walsh, Val Vandersloot, John Pastor, Joe Laura, Maureen Miller Brosnan and
Jack Engebretson. Absent: Brian Duggan.
President Engebretson stated that this was a public hearing on the question of whether
this City Council should determine the necessity for the proposed special assessment street
improvement of Norfolk Avenue from 150 feet West of Melvin Avenue to Oporto Avenue, and
Oporto Avenue from Norfolk Avenue to 400 feet North of Norfolk Avenue in the Northeast 1/4 of
Section 2, as modified to include a cul-de-sac to the northernmost property on the
western side of proposed Oporto, pursuant to Chapter 08 of Title 3 of the Livonia Code of
Ordinances, as amended, entitled "Special Assessment Procedure Ordinance"
There were 120 persons present in the audience on this matter
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due consideration by the
Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 7 52 p m , Wednesday, October 20, 1999
