MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
On October 14, 1998, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33000 Civic
Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by President Engebretson at
7.00 Engebretson at 7 00 p m Present: Maureen Miller Brosnan, John Walsh, Val
Vandersloot, John Pastor, Brian Duggan, Joe Laura, and Jack Engebretson. Absent:
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the City
Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing date
to those persons affected by the proposed change and all other requirements of
Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance have been fulfilled.
President Engebretson stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth in
Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan 1921, as amended, the Zoning Act
(M S.A. Section 5.2934, M C L.A. 125 584), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance No
543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is
holding a public hearing relevant to request for a change of the Zoning Ordinance
PETITION 98-6-1-11 by the City Planning Commission requesting
to rezone property located on Floral and Deering Avenues north of
Joy Road in the S E ' of Section 36 from RUF to R-1 (Rural Urban
Farm Acre Lots to One Family Residential ā60' x 120' Lots)
PETITION 98-7-1-13 by Leo Soave on behalf of Livonia Veterans
Memorial Home, Inc. requesting to rezone property located on the
North side of Joy Road between Newburgh Road and Crown Avenue
In the S W ' of Section 32 from P to R-1 (Parking to One Family
Residential ā 60' x 120' Lots)
PETITION 98-6-1-10 by David and Kathleen Johnson and Adam and
Anna Holzhaus requesting to rezone property located on the south
Side of Clarita Avenue between Middlebelt Road and Melvin Avenue
In the N E. ' of Section 11 from R-5 to R-2 (One Family Residential
100' x 150' Lots to One Family Residential ā70' x 120' Lots)

PETITION 98-6-6-4 by the City Planning Commission, pursuant to
CR 406-98, to determine whether or not to amend Article XVIII of
Zoning Ordinance No 543, as amended, so as to add thereto a new
Section 18 66 imposing bonding requirements, subject to the limitations
Of Section 125 584e of the Michigan Compiled Laws, for any site
Condominium or other project which requires the approval of the
City Council under this ordinance
There were five (5) persons present on these matters.
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due consideration
by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 7 59 p m , Wednesday, October 14,
