MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
On August 12, 1992, the above hearing was held at the City Hall,
33000 Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the
President of the Council at 7:57 p m. Present: Laura M. Toy, Ron Ochala,
Fernon P. Feenstra, Sean P. Kavanagh, Michael P. McGee, Dale A. Jurcisin,
and Gerald Taylor Absent: None.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning
Ordinance, the City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen
(15) days prior to the hearing date to those persons in the area affected
by the proposed change and all other requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the
Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled.
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set
forth in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as
amended, the Zoning Act (M.S.A. Section 5.2934;M.C.L.A. 125.584), as well
as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is holding a public hearing
relative to a request for a change of the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition 92-3-1-5, by Landmark for Richard Gergis to rezone
Imo property located on the west side of Middlebelt Road between Clarita Avenue
and Seven Mile Road from C-1 to C-2 (Local Business to General Business).
Petition 92-4-1-7, by Rissman Investment Company to rezone
property located on the south side of Ann Arbor Road between Ann Arbor
Trail and West Chicago in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 31 from C-1 to C-2
(Local Business to General Business).
Petition 92-4-1-8, by Donald McLean for Disabled American
Veterans Post 11114 to rezone property located on the northeast corner of
Joy and Newburgh Roads in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 32 from RUF to C-1
and P (One Family Residential - 1/2 Acre Lot to Local Business and
Parking).
Petition 92-5-1-10, by Richard D. Cramb, Sr for American Legion
Post 1132 to rezone property located on the east side of Newburgh Road
between Joy Road and Ann Arbor Trail in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 32
from RUF to P (Rural Urban Farm-Single Family Residential to Parking).
There were approximately 27 persons present
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due
consideration by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the
Office of the City Clerk.
