MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
On January 23, 1989, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33000
Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President
of the Council at 8:04 p.m. Present: Fernon P Feenstra, Joan McCotter, Laura
Toy, Robert R. Bishop, Gerald Taylor, Ron Ochala and Dale Jurcisin. Absent:
None.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the
City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the
hearing date to those persons in the area affected by the proposed change and all
other requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been
fulfilled.
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth in
Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as amended, the City
Zoning Act, (MSA 5.2934; MCLA 125 548), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance
543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of
L Livonia is holding a public hearing relative to a request for a change of the
Zoning Ordinance.
Petition 88-9-1-26, submitted by the City Planning Commission for a change
of zoning on property located on the west side of Inkster, north of Joy Road in
the Southeast 1/4 of Section 36, from RUF to R-9 (Rural Urban Farm - One Family
Residential to Housing for the Elderly)
Petition 88-9-1-27, submitted by Jerry Gottlieb for a change of zoning on
property located on the north side of Joy Road between Newburgh Road and
Stonehouse Avenue in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 31, from R-4 to R-7 (One Family
Residential to Multiple Family Dwelling)
Petition 88-9-1-29, submitted by C Tangora for Stella Construction for a
change of zoning on property located on the northeast corner of Melvin and
Clarita in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 11, from P. S. to R-7 (Professional
Service to Multiple Family Residential).
There were approximately 10 people present.
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due consideration
by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 9 04 p m , January 23, 1989
