MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
lioOn June 29, 1987, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33000
Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the Vice
President of the Council at 8:05 p m. Present Joan McCotter, Fernon P.
Feenstra, Robert R Bishop, Robert D Bennett, Ron Ochala, Gerald Taylor
Absent: Robert E McCann
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance,
the City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days
prior to the hearing date to those persons in the area affected by the
proposed change and all other requirements of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning
Ordinance, have been fulfilled
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth
in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as amended,
the Zoning Act (MSA 5 2934,MCLA 125 584) , as well as Article XXIII of
Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council
is holding a public hearing relative to a request for a change of the Zoning
Ordinance.
Petition 87-1-1-4, submitted by K-1 Partners for a change of zoning
of property located on the south side of Five Mile Road, east and west of
Gary Lane in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 21, from R-2 to R-6 (One
Family Residential to Two Family Residential)
Petition 87-2-1-11, submitted by Richard M Lewiston for a change
of zoning of property located on the northwest corner of Joy and Hix Roads
in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 31, from C-2, P S and R-1 to R-7 (General
Business, Professional Service and One Family Residential to Multiple
Family Dwelling)
Petition 87-2-1-12, submitted by David Phipps for a change of zoning
of property located on the west side of Farmington Road between Five Mile
and Lyndon in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 21 from R-2 to R-9II and P S
(One Family Residential to Housing for the Elderly - Six Stories and
Professional Service)
Petition 87-3-6-1, submitted by the City Planning Commission to amend
Section 2. 10, Definitions of Miscellaneous Terms, of the Zoning Ordinance
No 543 by incoroprating language regarding the size of private garages.

There were approximately 150 people present.
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due consider-
ation by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of the
City Clerk,
The public hearing was declared closed at 10 30 p.m , June 29, 1987.
