MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
LOn September 11, 1978, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33001 Five
Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council at
8 00 P. M. Present Robert E. McCann, Robert F Nash, Gerald D. Taylor, Jerry Raymond,
Robert D. Bennett, Robert R. Bishop and Peter A. Ventura.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the City
Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing date
to those persons in the area affected by the proposed change and all other requirements
of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled.
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth in
Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as amended, the Zoning
Act (M.S A. Section 5.2934) , as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is holding a
L public hearing relative to a request for a change in the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition No. 78-5-1-24 submitted by Rest-in-the-Son, Inc. for a change of
zoning of property located on the south side of Ann Arbor Trail, between Newburgh and Hix
Roads, in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 31, from RUF and AG to R-7 (Rural Urban Farm and
General Agricultural to Multiple Family Residential) .
Petition No. 78-3-1-17 submitted by Richard M. Lewiston for a change of zoning
of property located on the south side of Margareta Drive between Newburgh Road and the
1-275 Freeway in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 7, from R-5 to R-3 (One Family Residential)
Petition No. 78-5-6-7 submitted by the City Planning Commission to amend
Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, so as to establish regulations
for the control of adult bookstores, signs and related material within the City of
Livonia
Petition No. 78-5-6-8 submitted by the City Planning Commission to amend
Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, so as to amend Article XVIII -
Supplementary Regulations - by adding new controls to the sign regulations in the R-8,
R-9, P.O. , C-3 and C-4 Zoning Districts (High Rise Multiple Family Residential, Housing
for the Elderly, High Rise Professional Office District, Highway Services and High Rise
Commercial) .
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 9 40 P. M , September 11, 1978.
