OF THE WHOLE HELD OCTOBER 18, 1951.
The above meeting was held at the City Hall and commenced at
approximately 8:55 P. M. The meeting was presided over by Wilson W.
Edgar, who was designated as chairman by the President. Roll was called
with the folkming result: Present-- Wilson W. Edgar, Harry S. Wolfe,
Raymond E. Grimm, John Whitehead, Nettie Carey, William Taylor and Harvey
Jahn. Absent-- None.
The members of the Civil Service Commission, Harry Burton,
LaVerne Theisen and John Campbell, met with the Committee of the Whole and
explained the new proposed salary schedule and cost of living plan and
this matter was discussed at length.
By Councilman Taylor, seconded by CouncilmanWhitehead and unanimously
adopted as follows, it was :
RESOLVED, that the Committee of the Whole does hereby
recommend to the Council that the salary and compensation schedule
as prepared and submitted by Civil Service Commission under date of
September 1, 1951, be approved with the following exceptions :
1. A limitation of 3 points increase per 1/L be
contained in coat of living bonus plan.
2. That the Chief of the Fire Department and the Chief
of Police each receive annual salary of $5,096.00 without additional
allowance for extra hours service, or benefit of cost of living
bonus plan.
3. That the Building Inspector receive an annual salary
of $4,305.00 305.00 without additional allowance for extra hours and without
any benefit of cost of living bonus plan.
Judge Leo 0. Nye appeared before the Committee and discussed his
budget.
Everett Mason likewise appeared in connection with his application
for an S.D.D. license.
The Committee of the .hole then continued its discussion on the
lbw budget for the fiscal year commencing December 1, 1951.
On motion of Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Taylor and
unanimously passed, the meeting was adjourned at 12 :L7 A.M., October 19, 1951.
