THE WHOLE HELD MAY 26, 1952
The above meeting was held at the Court Building, 33211 W. Seven Mile Road,
Livonia, Michigan, and commenced at approximately 9:30 P. M. The meeting was presided
over by Wilson W. Edgar, who was designated as Chairman by President Wolfe. Roll was
called with the following result: Present-- Harry S. Wolfe, Raymond E. Grimm, Wilson
W. Edgar, Nettie Carey, William Taylor and John Whitehead. Absent-- Harvey Jahn.
Mayor Ziegler, City Engineer Hamill, Architect Ralph Calder and City Attorney
William Brashear also met with the committee.
A full discussion was had on the bids submitted on the construction of the
new city hall and the possibility of so revising the plans and specifications as to
procure lower bids. By Councilman Whitehead, seconded by Councilman Carey and adopted
as follows, it was:
RESOLVED that, after careful consideration, the Committee of the
Whole does hereby recommend to the Council that all bids received for the
construction of the new city hall be rejected and the architect be requested
to prepare revised plans and specifications and submit the same to the
Council on June 9, 1952.
President Wolfe did not vote on the foregoing motion.
By Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Carey and unanimously adopted
as follows, it was:
RESOLVED, that this meeting of the Committee of the Whole
be adjourned to June 2, 1952, at 8:00 P. M.
The meeting was adjourned accordingly at 11:10 P.M., May 26, 1952.
