Home My WebLink AboutELEC COMM 1961-09-18 MINUMS OF MEETING OF THE ELECTION CDMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA A meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia was held on Monday, September 18, 1961, at 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, at 10:00 A. M., at which time and place the following members of said Commissions William W. Brashear - Mayor Marie W. Clark - City Clerk Rodney C. Kropf - City Attorney were present. Pursuant to Section 5, Chapter III of the Charter, the City Clerk presided over the meeting as Chairman of the Commission. The following resolution was offered by City Attorney Rodney C. .ropf, supported by Mayor William W. Brashear, and unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, the local political bodies in Livonia have heretofore requested increasing the number of voting precincts in the City of Livonia; and WHEREAS, the Council by resolution #321-61, adopted May 23, 1961, requested a report from the Election Commission with relation to how many additional personnel would be needed, how many additional voting machines would be required and what the anticipated cost would be to the City of Livonia; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that, the Election Commission does hereby recommend that the number of voting precincts in theCity of Livonia be increased from its present number of twenty-six (e6) precincts to fifty- three (53) voting precincts in accordance with the attached map, the cost of providing such additional voting precincts having been submitted in the proposed 1961-62 budget by the Election Commission. There being no further business to come before the Commission, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 10:30 A. M., at which time and place the following members of said Commission: William W. Brashear - Mayor Marie W. Clark - City Clerk Rodney C. Kropf - City Attorney were present. Pursuant to Section 5, Chapter III of the Charter, the City Cleric presided over the meeting as Chairman of the Commission. Careful considerati on was given to the matter of appointing a Board of Inspectors of Election for each election precinct of the City, pursuant to Act No, 271 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1959, as amended, to function as such at the City Primary and Special City Election to be held February 19, 1962.
