Home My WebLink AboutELEC COMM 1962-07-16 MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA July 16, 1962 A meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia was held on Monday, July 16, 1962, at 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, at approximately 2:i2 o'clock p.m., at which time and place all the members of said Commission: Harvey W. Moelke - Mayor Marie W. Clark - City Clerk Alan Walt - City Attorney were present. Pursuant to Section 5, Chapter III of the Charter, the City Clerk presided over the meeting as Chairman of the Commission. Careful consideration was given to the matter of appointing a Board of Inspectors of Election for each election precinct of the City, pursuant to Act No. 271 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1959, as amended, to function as such at the General Primary Election to be held on August 7, 1962. After a lengthy discussion of the list of election inspectors as presented by the City Clerk, Alan Walt registered his dissent of the appointment of one of those listed. On motion by Mayor Moelke, seconded by Marie W. Phyllis Robinson D 11413 Auburndale Patricia Graney R 12963 Stark Road Christine Morris D 10217 Stark Road Rita Brehmer R 36772 Angeline Circle FURTHER RESOLVED that, said boards of election inspectors as above constituted shall, on members thereof taking and subscribing the constitutional oath of office, have all powers and duties provided by law as boards of election inspectors at the General Primary Election of August 7, 1962; and that the salaries for the inspectors of election who will serve on August 7, 1962, be as follows: Chairmen, $24.00 Inspectors, $20.00 On motion by Mayor Moelke, seconded by Alan Walt, City Attorney and unanimously carried by the affirmative vote of all three members of the Commission, it was RESOLVED that, a meeting of the Election Commission shall be held on August 13, 1962, at 2:30 o'clock p. m., at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, for the purpose of discussing applications for ap- pointment of election inspectors in the City of Livonia.
