Home My WebLink AboutELEC COMM 1968-02-29 MINUTES OF MEETING OF ELECTION COMMISSION OF CITY OF LIVONIA FEBRUARY 29, 1968 A meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia was held on February 29, 1968 at the Livonia City Hall at approximately 4 55 P M , at which time and place the following members of said commission were present Harvey W Moelke Mayor Steve Polgar City Attorney Addison W Bacon City Clerk Pursuant to Section 5, Chapter III of the Charter of the City of Livonia, City Clerk, Addison W Bacon presided over the meeting as Chairman of the Commission. The Chairman stated that the meeting was called for purpose of considering two requests for candidates designation at the Regular City Election of April 1, 1968, as well as to appoint Election Inspectors for said election and set the compensation therefor Upon a motion by Commissioner Moelke, supported by Commissioner Polgar, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the designation "Livonia School Principal" , on the ballot of April 1, 1968, be granted to Robert E McCann, as requested Upon a motion by Commissioner Polgar, supported by Commissioner Moelke, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the designation "Attorney at Law" , on the ballot of April 1, 1968, be granted John J McCann, should he so desire Upon a motion by Commissioner Moelke, supported by Commissioner Polgar, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the designation "Constable" , on the ballot of April 1, 1968 be granted to Joseph C Keane, as requested. Upon a motion by Commissioner Polgar, supported by Commissioner Moelke, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that a designation showing residence address or occupation on the ballot of April 1, 1968 be granted to Joseph R Kinnick should he so desire. Upon a motion by Commissioner Polgar, supported by Commissioner Moelke, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the list of Election Inspectors, as submitted, be approved to serve at the Regular City Election of April 1, 1968 L '1 #5 Vivian McVicar, Chrm. Sakal D Virginia A McClung R Upon a motion by Commissioner Moelke, supported by Commissioner Polgar, and unanimously adopted, it was L RESOLVED, that the compensation for Chairman be set at $28.00 for the day and that of Inspectors by $24.00 for the day Upon a motion by Commissioner Moelke, supported by Commissioner Polgar, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Election Commission be directed to appraise the residents by means of an article in the local newspaper that the Election Commission is accepting applications for inspectors.
