MINUTES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-SECOND SPECI&L MEETING
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter IV of the City Charter,
the above meeting was held December 21, 1970, at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road,
Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council at approx-
imately 8:25 P. M. Roll was called with the following result: Present--Robert F.
Nash, Jerry Raymond, Robert E. McCann, Robert D. Bennett and Jerry H. Brown. Absent--
Excused-Peter A. Ventura and Edward G. Milligan (representing the City in another
capacity).
Elected and appointed officials present: Addison W. Bacon, City Clerk;
Harry C. Tatigian, City Attorney; Edward H. McNamara, Mayor; Gene P. Ehrstin, Direct-
or of Public Safety - Police; and Robert Turner, Chief of Police.
By Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Bennett, it was
#1191-70 RESOLVED, that having considered a communication dated November
18, 1970, from the Chief of Police, Director of Public Safety-Police, and
the Budget Director, and approved for submission by the Mayor with respect
to bids for the proposed purchase of sixteen (16) Police Vehicles, said
sealed bids having been duly published and publicly opened and read on
November 17, 1970, said matter having been previously referred to the
Committee of the Whole, Council Resolution #1172-70, the Council does here-
by determine to reject all bids received with respect to this item, and
does hereby request that %he Director of Public Safety-Police, Police Chief
and the Budget Director to proceed at the earliest possible date to re-
advertise for the purpose of taking new bids in accordance with provisions
of law and City Ordinance and further, that the specifications shall remain
substantially as originally proposed except that same shall also include,
alternate "A" Engine, Eight Cylinder (V8) 440 Cubic inch minimum, 330 H.P.
minimum, Four barrel Carburetor, Dual Exhaust; and Alternate "B", Air
Conditioning Equipment, Factory Installed; further, that all things necess-
ary be done to have new bids submitted within a minimum prescribed period
of time.
A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result:
AYES: Brown, Bennett, McCann, Raymond and Nash.
NAYS; None.

By Councilman McCann, seconded by Councilman Brown, and unanimously
adopted, this 132nd special meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia was duly
adjourned at 8:50 P. M., December 21, 1970.
