MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON VARIOUS ZONING PETITIONS
On July 9, 1969, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33001 Five
Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by Vice-President McCann at
7:10 P. M. Present--Robert E. McCann, Rudolf R. Kleinert, *Peter A. Ventura,
Jerry Raymond, Robert F. Nash, and *Edward G. Milligan. Absent--Edward H. McNamara.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the
City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the hear-
ing date to those persons in the area affected by the proposed changes and all other
requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled.
The Vice-President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth
in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as amended, the City
Zoning Act, (M.S.A. Section 5.2934), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is
holding a public hearing relative to requests for various changes of zoning within
the City.
Petition 69-2-6-3 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own
motion to determine whether or not to amend Ordinance No. 543 by adding a maximum
building height limitation for all buildings in the R-7 Multiple Family Res. Dist.)
District Regulations.
Petition 69-2-1-2 submitted by Groesbeck Corporation for a change of zoning
on property located on the West side of Middlebelt between St. Martins and Bretton
Road in Section 2 from RUF to C-2.
*Councilman Ventura arrived at 7:22 P. M. and Councilman Milligan arrived
at 7:35 P. M.
Petition 69-2-6-5 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own
motion to amend Section 22.09 of Ordinance No. 543 to simplify the procedure for
obtaining a temporary certificate of occupancy.
Petition 69-2-6-4 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own motion
to determine whether or not to amend Section 22.02 of Ordinance No. 543 to clarify
the difference between a zoning compliance permit and a building permit.
Petition 69-2-6-7 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own
motion to amend Section 18.47 of Ordinance No. 543 to clarify the Planning Commission
control of the area and proposed buildings in the Civic Center vicinity.
Petition 69-2-1-4 submitted by Melvin Sachs for a change of zoning on
property located on the north side of Ann Arbor Trail east of Hix Road in the Northeast
1/4 of Section 31 from R-1 to R-7.

Petition 69-3-1-10 submitted by Michael Berry and Vivian C. Berry for
a change of zoning of property located on the north side of Ann Arbor Trail east
of Lawrence Drive in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 32 from C-1 to R-7.
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due considera-
tion by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
The public hearing was declared closed at 8:20 P. M., July 9, 1969.
