MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON NECESSITY RELATIVE TO INSTALLING STREET LIGHTS
ON LYNDON AVENUE BETWEEN MIDDLEBELT AND HENRY RUFF IN SECTION 23
On July 12, 1967, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33001 Five
Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council
at approximately 8:30 P. M. Present--Peter A. Ventura, Edward H. McNamara, Jerry
Raymond, and Edward G. Milligan. Absent--Rudolf R. Kleinert, Robert F. Nash, and
Jack Salvadore.
The President stated that pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 101,
as amended, of the City of Livonia, entitled "An Ordinance to Provide for the Making
of Public Improvements, Defraying the Expense Thereof by Special Assessment and a
Special Assessment Procedure", and likewise pursuant to a Notice of Public Hearing
duly published and sent to the property owners in accordance with said Ordinance
No. 401, as amended, the City Council was opening a public hearing for the purpose
of determining the necessity for the installation of street lights on Lyndon Avenue
between Middlebelt and Henry Ruff in Section 23, in the City of Livonia, Michigan.
Mr. William Ponder, 32510 Plymouth Road, representing Gordon-Begin Company,
was the only person in the audience regarding this matter. Mr. Ponder stated their
opposition to the installation of street lights a transcript of which is on file in
the office of the City Clerk.
There being no further comments, the public hearing was declared closed at
8:32 P. M., July 12, 1967.
