MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON NECESSITY RELATIVE TO INSTALLING STREET LIGHTS
IN GOLFVIEW MEADOWS SUB. NO. 1 AND NO. 2 AND BURTON HOLLOW SUB. NO. 6
On March 1, 1967, the above Hearing was held at the City Hall, 33001 Five
Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the Chairman, Councilman
Kleinert, at approximately 8:12 P. M. Present--Rudolf R. Kleinert, Edward H.
McNamara, and Edward G. Milligan. Absent--Peter A. Ventura, Jerry Raymond, Robert F.
Nash, and Jack Salvadore.
The Chairman stated that pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 401,
as amended, of the City of Livonia, entitled "An Ordinance to Provide for the Making
of Public Improvements, Defraying the Expense Thereof by Special Assessment and a
Special Assessment Procedure", and likewise pursuant to a Notice of Public Hearing
duly published and sent to property owners in accordance with said Ordinance No. 401,
as amended, the City Council was opening a Public Hearing for the purpose of deter-
mining the necessity for the installation of street lights in Golfview Meadows Sub-
divisions No. 1 and No. 2 and Burton Hollow Subdivision No. 6, in Sections 16 and 17
in the City of Livonia.
There were approximately fifty people in the audience.
James A. Wanner, President of the Golfview Meadows Civic Association,
16325 Fairfield Drive, read a letter from the Civic Association stating that most
residents were opposed to the installation of street lights.
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due consideration
by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
There being no further comments, the Public Hearing was declared closed at
8:25 P. M., March 1, 1967.
