HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOARD OF CANVASSERS 1964-02-20 Page 6156 MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE BOARD OF CANVASSERS OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA Pursuant to Section 12 of Chapter III of the City Charter, the members of the Board of Canvassers of the City of Livonia met on Thursday,February 20, 1961 , at approximately 8130 P. M., at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan. The meeting was called to order at the above time and place by the City Clerk, acting as Secretary of the Board. Present: Milton Lebenbom, Leonard J, Hippler, Allen J. Kovinsky and Lawrence C. Newman, who were the members of the Board of Canvassers duly appointed pursuant to Act 65 of the Public Acts of 1963. The Secretary asked for nominations for Chairman. It was moved by Mr. Rippler, seconded by Mr. Lebenbom, that the Chairman be rotated between the two political parties on a yearly term. Unanimously carried. Mr.Hippler nominated Mr.Lebenbom, representing the Democratic Party, for Chairman, seconded by Mr. Kovinsky. Unanimously carried. Mr.Lebenbom nominated Mr. Newman, representing the Republican Party, for Vice Chairman, seconded by Mr. Rippler. Unanimously carried. The City Clerk read to the Board the contents of certified statements of the returns of each precinct, as prepared and certified by the election inspectors of each precinct and filed in her office and these returns were examined and can- vassed by the Board, and were approved. The Chairman declared the foregoing resolution adopted and directed that certified copies of the same be prepared and be signed by each member of the Board. By Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Kovinsky, it was RESOLVED that, the Board of Canvassers make and sign the following Certificate: CERTIFICATE OF DETERMINATION STATE OF MICHIGAN ) ) ss COUNTY OF WAYNE ) We, the undersigned members of the Board of Canvassers of the City of Livonia, do hereby meet on this 20th day of February, A. D., 1964, this being the first Thursday following the City Primary Election held on February 17, 1964, and publicly canvass the returns of such election, and do hereby determine the results of such canvass and the persons who have been nominated at such election; and that the attached list, as identified Page 6459 by the signature of the Chairman of the Board contains the names of the L persons who were duly hominated for the designated offices at such Primary Election held on February 17, 1964.
