MINUTES OF THE THREE HUNDRED SIXTH REGULAR METING
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
On April 11, 1960, the above meeting was held at 33001 Five Mile Road,
Livonia, Michigan, and being the first meeting of the new Council following the
City election on April I, 1960, and the inauguration of the newly elected members
of the Council on this 11th day of April, 1960, such meeting was called to order
by Marie W. Clark, City Clerk, at approximately 9:30 o'clock P. M. Councilman
Kleinert delivered the invocation. Roll was called with the following result:
Present-- Robert Sasser, Austin T. Grant, Jack Salvadore, James R. McCann, John
T. Daugherty, Sydney B. Bagnall and Rudolf R. Kleinert. Absent-- None.
Councilman McCann nominated Councilman Sasser as President and asked
that nominations be closed.
By Councilman McCann, seconded by Councilman Bagnall, it was
#186-60 RESOLVED that, Robert Sasser is hereby declared to be
President of the City Council for the two year period commencing
April 11, 1960.
A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result:
AYES: Daugherty, Bagnall, Kleinert, Grant, Sasser, Salvadore and McCann.
NAYS: None.
Marie W. Clark, City Clerk, thereupon escorted the new President to the
Chair, and Mr. Sasser presided over the balance of the meeting.
Councilman Bagnall nominated Councilman Salvadore for the office of
Vice-President and asked that nominations be closed and the Clerk be instructed
to cast a unanimous ballot for Mr. Salvadore.
By Councilman Bagnall, seconded by Councilman Kleinert and unanimously
adopted, it was
#187-60 RESOLVED that, Jack Salvadore is hereby declared to be
Vice-President of the City Council for the two year period commencing
April 11, 1960.

Councilman Daugherty nominated Councilman Rudolf R. Kleinert as a
member of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors and asked that nominations be
closed and a unanimous ballot be cast for Mr. Kleinert.
By Councilman Daugherty, seconded by Councilman Salvadore and unanimously
adopted, it was
#188-60 RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 1 of Chapter X of the Charter
of the City of Livonia, the Council does hereby appoint Rudolf R. Kleinert
as one of the Supervisors of the City of Livonia to represent the City on
the Board of Supervisors for the County of Wayne, to hold office for a
term of two years following this appointment and until his successor shall
have been duly appointed and qualified, and with all the powers and duties
set forth in s aid section; provided, however, that the person appointed to
such office shall comply with the provisions of Sections 2 and 3 of
Chapter X of the Charter.
By Councilman Grant, seconded by Councilman McCann and unanimously
adopted, it was
#189-60 RESOLVED that, the minutes of the 305th regular meeting of the
Council of the City of Livonia held April 7, 1960, are hereby approved.
The President thereupon appointed Councilman Jack Salvadore to the Board
of Trustees for the Employees Retirement System.
President Sasser appointed the following Committees:

On motion of Councilman Salvadore, seconded by Councilman Grant and
unanimously adopted, this 306th regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Livonia was duly adjourned at 9:38 P. M., April 11, 1960.
