MINUTES OF THE FIFTY-THIRD SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter IV of the City Charter,
and with the consent of all members of the Council, the above meeting was held on
May 16, 1960, at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was
called to order by the President at approximately 10:00 P. M. Roll was called
with the following result: Present.... Robert Sasser, John T. Daugherty, Sydney
B. Bagnall, Rudolf R. Kleinert, Austin T. Grant, Jack Salvadore and James R. McCann.
Absent-.- None.
Councilman McCann introduced the following emergency Ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 28 OF THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY
OF LIVONIA AND AMENDING ARTICLE 3.00 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE,
ORDINANCE NO. b0, AS AMENDED, OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA, BY ADDING
THERETO SECTION 3.266.
THE CITY OF LIVONIA ORDAINS:
Section 1. The report and recommendation of the City Planning Commission
dated March 30, 1960, on Petition No. Z-321, as amended, having been considered by
the Council, the Council hereby adopts said petition to the extent herein acted upon
to amend the zoning ordinance and the zoning map of the City of Livonia and all pro-
ceedings heretofore conducted on said petition are hereby approved.
Section 2. Article 3.00 of the Zoning Ordinance, Ordinance No. 60, as
amended, of the City of Livonia, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following
section:
Section 3.266. Petition No. Z-321, as amended, initiated by the
City Planning Commission is hereby granted in accordance with the recom•
mandation of the City Planning Commission dated March 30, 1960, but only
to the extent that the property hereinafter described shall be affected,
and the Zoning classifications of the premises situated in Section 28 of
the City of Livonia and described as follows, to-wits
A parcel of land being a part of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 28, Town 1
South, Range 9 East, City of Livonia, Wayne County, Michigan, lying West
of and adjoining, in part, the centerline of Farmington Road; South of
and adjoining, in part, the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company's right-of-
way (99 feet wide); and North of Plymouth Road, being more particularly
described as:

Beginning at a point on the East line of said Section 28, said point being
North 00 44' 50" West 1222.64 feet from the Southeast corner of said Section
28; thence North 890 17' 20" West 664.07 feet to a point; thence North 00
59' 20" West 162.08 feet to a point; thence South 870 47' 30" West 655.87
feet to a point; thence North 0° 43' 30" West 944.94 feet to a point of
angle; thence North 00 05' 10" West 3.9k a$t to a point; thence North 890
56' 30" East 1.00 foot to a point; thenc8'00 05' 10" West 277.60 feet to a
point on the South line of The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company's right-
of-way (99 feet wide); thence South 890 40' 50" East, along the South line
of said right-of-way, 292.64 feet to a point on a curve, said point being
1023.18 feet Westerly, measured along the South line of said right-of-way,
from the East line of said Section 28; thence Southwesterly, on a curve to
the left, )11)i.68 feet measured along the arc of said curve to a point of
tangent, said curve has a radius of 294.62 feet and a central angle of 800
38' 40", the chord of said curve bears South 39° 35' 50" West and has a
length of 381.29 feet; thence South 00 43 ' 30" East 259.00 feet to a point;
thence South 70 52' 40" East 54.44 feet to a point of curve, thence South-
easterly, on a curve to the left, 188.95 feet measured along the arc of said
curve to a point, said curve has a radius of 294.62 feet and a central angle
of 360 44' 45", the chord of said curve bears South 260 15' 02.5" East and
has a length of 185.73 feet; thence South 890 40' 50" East, parallel to the
South line of the said The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company's right-of-
waY (99 feet wide), 1183.41 feet to a point on the East line of said Section
28, said point being South 00 44' 50" East 823.73 feet from the East 1/4
corner of said Section 28; thence South 00 44' 50" East, along the East line
of said Section 28, 590.00 feet to the point of beginning; containing an
area of 16.983 acres;
are hereby changed from RUFB and R-2 to M-2 in accordance with the afore.-
mentioned recommendation of the City Planning Commission dated March 30, 1960,
and such part of Section 28 of the Zoning Map is hereby amended to conform
to the change made in this section.
Section 3. The attached map designated "Amendment No. 60 of the Zoning Map
of theCity of Livonia," showing all of the amendments and changes made in the fore-
going Section 2 of this ordinance is hereby approved, established and made a part
thereof.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed only to the extent necessary to give this ordinance frill force and
effect.
Section 5. Should any portion of this ordinance be held invalid for any
reason, such holding shall not be construed as affecting the validity of any of the
remaining portions of this ordinance.
Section 6. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance
necessary for the protection of the public safety and welfare and shall take effect
immediately on publication.
A roll call vote was conducted on the foregoing Ordinance with the following results
AYES: Grant,Salvadore, McCann, Daugherty, Bagnall, Kleinert and Sasser.
NAYS: None.

The President declared the Ordinance duly adopted and would become effective on
publication.
On motion of Councilman Grant, seconded by Councilman McCann and
unanimously adopted, this 53rd special meeting of the Council of the City of
Livonia was duly adjourned at 10:07 P. M., May 18, 1960.
