MINUTES OF THE SEVENTY-FIFTH REGULAR MEETING
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
On July 28, 1952, above meeting was held at 33211 West Seven Mile Road,
Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order at approximately 8:00 P M. by the
President of the Council, Harry S Wolfe Roll was called with the following
result: Present-- Harry S. Wolfe, Wilson W. Edgar, John Whitehead, Nettie Carey
and William Taylor. Absent-- Harvey Jahn and Raymond E. Grimm
Councilman Whitehead made a motion that the following resolution be
adopted:
#135 RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Harvey Jahn, one of the members of this Council and a long
time resident of our City, was this day taken from our midst by death;
and
WHEREAS, Harvey was well known and loved by our members and the
people of our City; and
�-- WHEREAS, since the incorporation of the City of Livonia, Harvey Jahn
has been a faithful, energetic, enthusiastic and able member of this
Council, having just recently been reelected to a second term by a
decisive vote of our people; and
WHEREAS, Harvey has always been very close to our people, familiar
with their views and problems and sincerely interested in their welfare
and the good of his City; and
WHEREAS, Harvey has been a loving and dutiful husband, father,
brother and son, and
WHEREAS, Harvey was a citizen of integrity and honor of whom this
City is justly proud;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Livonia does hereby
RESOLVE to record here permanently in the Minutes of this meeting the
sense of deep loss that is felt by the Council, the Public Officials and
the People of Livonia because of the death of Harvey Jahn; sincere
appreciation and recognition of the faithful service of Harvey to this
City; and the great sympathy and understanding this City extends to his
wife Eleanor, the brother, Clarence, and all the members of Harvey's
family, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be trans-
mitted to members of Harvey's family.

The foregoing motion was seconded by Councilman Taylor and a roll call
vote was taken thereon with the following result:
AYES: Edgar, Whitehead, Carey, Taylor and Wolfe.
NAYS: None
By Councilman Edgar, seconded by Councilman Carey and unanimously
adopted, it was:
#136 RESOLVED, that, in memory and honor of Harvey Jahn, the
flags on all public buildings within the City of Livonia be flown
at half mast for a period of thirty days from the date of this
Resolution.
By Councilman Taylor, seconded by Councilman Carey, and unanimously
adopted, it was.
RESOLVED, that this regular meeting be adjourned to July 29,
1952, at 9:00 P.M , in respect to Councilman Jahn.
The meeting vas adjourned accordingly at 8:30 P.M.
