OF THE LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION
The 625th Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third floor conference
room A City Hall on Thursday, May 17, 2007 and called to order by Chairman Kevin Priddy.
PRESENT: Commissioners Kevin Priddy, Gordon Draper, Amy Kirksey,
Gordon StJohn, Cinch Quinn and Sergeant David Studt.
The Commission extended a warm welcome to its newly appointed commissioner Cinch Quinn-
Ventura
The Commission reviewed the minutes of the meeting of April 12, 2007.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
RESOLVED, That the commission minutes for April 12, 2007 be approved as submitted.
The commission discussed with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mitchell, 9488 Gillman, their concerns regarding
traffic on Middlebelt and W. Chicago. The Mitchells have problems backing out of their driveway into
traffic and have concerns if the traffic light is removed their problems will increase. The chairman stated
the lights will be on a 90 day flash and that it would be up to the commission to request WayneCounty
to leave the traffic light up. This miner will be reviewed after the shopping center is open and a review
of the traffic flow is made..
Upon a motion by Mr. StJohn, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
13-07 RESOLVED, that 4 -way STOP signs be installed at Harrison and W. Chicago.
The commission reviewed Traffic Control Orders submitted by Sergeant Studt and made the following
resolutions:
Upon a motion by Mr. StJohn, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
14-07 RESOLVED, that a YIELD sign be installed A Purlingbrook at Pickford
Add supplemental AHEAD (W 16-9p( to current Sl -1 on Curtis at
Doris.
TRAFFIC COMMISSION MINUTES
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
15-07 RESOLVED, that the NO OUTLET sign on Pickford east of Purlingbrook be removed and a DEAD
END sign (W14-1_ with delineators be installed on Pickford east of Purlingbrook.
Upon a motion by Ms. Quinn, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was
16-07 RESOLVED, that STOP sign for southbound Deering at W. Chicago be installed.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
17-07 RESOLVED, that a STOP sign be installed on Hix at Five Mile.
The commission reviewed the request for a NO OUTLET sign on Oakley west of Cavell and approved the
following resolution:
Upon a motion by MrSt. John, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was
18-07 RESOLVED, that a NO OUTLET sign be installed on Oakley west of Cavell.
The commission discussed the left turn light at Joy and Merriman. The chairman will address a letter to
WayneCounty requesting them to review this intersection.
Mr. Draper made the suggestion that delineators be installed at the dead end on
Taylor Blvd.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
19-07 RESOLVED, that red delineators be installed at the dead end sign on
Taylor Blvd.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Quinn, and unanimously adopted, it was

Remove NO OUTLET sign on Pickford east of Purlingbrook. Install DEAD END (W14-1) with delineators
on Pickford east of Purlingbrook
TCO 7-10 Section 36
Install 4way STOP at Harrison and W. Chicago
TCO 7-11 Section 36
Install STOP for southbound Deering at W. Chicago
TCO 7-12 Section 18
Install STOP for Hix at Five Mile
TCO 7-13 Section 11
Install YIELD for Curtis Court at Curtis
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Quinn, and unanimously adopted, it was
RESOLVED, That the meeting be adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
