Home My WebLink AboutTraffic Commission 2007-07-12MINUTES OF THE 627th REG UTAR MEETING OF THE LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION The 627th Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third floor conference room A City Hall on Thursday, July 12, 2007 and called to order by Kevin Priddy. PRESENT: Commissioners Kevin Priddy, Gordon Draper, Amy Kirksey, Joe Steele, Cindi Quinn and Sergeant David Strait. Also in attendance: Ralph Leggat, 9890 Seltzer, and Robert DeCorte, from TIA. The meeting was called to order by Kevin Priddy who announced he had stepped down from the Position of Chairman but would continue as a board member and turned the meeting over to Joe Steele, the newly appointed Chairman. Mr. Steele then conducted the meeting. The minutes of the meeting of June 14, 2007 were reviewed. Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Mrs. Quinn and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, That the commission minutes for June 14, 2007 be approved as submitted. The commission reviewed Traffic Control recommendations for Section 9 major changes. Mr. Ralph Leggat, 9890 Seltzer, representing the Clement Circle Civic Association, addressed their concerns regarding the removal of the traffic lights at Deering and W. Chicago and changing it to four- way STOP signs. The chairman explained to him that this was done in compliance with State law and we could not violate State law to put up traffic signals. After further discussion with Sergeant Stur t concerning accidents and safety in that area, Mr. Leggett's questions were satisfied and the matter was closed. The commission reviewed Traffic Control Orders submitted by the Police Department. Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Mrs. Quinn, and unanimously adopted, it was 27-07 RESOLVED, That the commission approves the following Traffic Control Orders: Traffic Control Order Number: Section No. 07-14 Permanent 24 Install NO OUTLET sign on Oakley west of Cavell. Install end of roadway (OM4-3( with delineators on northbound Taylor Blvd south of Oakley.
