Home My WebLink AboutTraffic Commission 2007-08-09MINUTES OF THE 628th REG UTAR MEETING OF THE LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION The 628th Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third floor conference room A City Hall on Thursday, August 9, 2007 and called to order by Chairman Joe Steele. PRESENT: Commissioners Gordon Draper, Amy Kirksey, Kevin Priddy, Joe Steele and Sergeant David Strait. The minutes of the meeting of July 12, 2007 were reviewed. Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, That the commission minutes for July 12, 2007 be approved as corrected as follows: Remove STOP for Lyndon at Park ADD supplemental CROSS STREET DOES NOT STOP (W44p) on STOP on Park Add supplemental ALL WAY STOP signs at Lyndon Discussed and approved removal of STOP signs in Section 1 in front of Botsford School Replace STOP signs on Brentwood at school entrance with supplemental 5-1-1 signs. The commission reviewed the request from the Police Department for NO PARKING signs on the east and west side of Wayne Rd. from Seven Mile to 500 feet south of Seven Mile. Upon a motion by Mr. Priddy, seconded by Ms. Kirksey and unanimously adopted, it was 28-07 RESOLVED, That the commission approves NO PARKING signs on the east and west sided Wayne Rd. from Seven Mile to 500 feet south of Seven Mile. Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey and unanimously adopted, twas 29-07 RESOLVED, that the Chairman send a letter to Wayne County stating that the study is completed and the commission recommends the signals be removed at the following locations: Five Mile and Hix West Chicago and Harrison West Chicago and Deering The Commission reviewed the request from the Police Department to remove a DEAF CHILD IN AREA sign. Upon a motion by Ms. Kirksey, seconded by Mr. Draper and unanimously adopted, it was 30417 RESOLVED, That the DEAF CHILD IN AREA sign across from 34815 Perth be removed. The family no longer lives in the area. Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Mr. Priddy, and unanimously adopted, it was 31-07 RESOLVED, That the Commission approves the installation of YIELD signs at the following locations in Section 21: Eastbound Summers at Ashurst Westbound Summers at Riverside Northbound Pinehurst Court at Pinehurst Northbound Riverside Ct. at Riverside Also, inetallation of R14 sign at Ashurst and Pinehurst The Commission reviewed the request from the Police Department to install YIELD signs in Section 5. Upon a motion by Mr. Priddy, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, twas 32417 RESOLVED, That the Commission approves the installation of YIELD signs at the following locations in Section 5: Eastbound Muirfield at Glen Eagles Westbound Muirfield A August Dr. Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was 33-07 RESOLVED, That the Commission approves the request for a Traffic Control Order for a STOP sign for southbound levan Ct. at Seven Mile. .The Commission reviewed Traffic Control recommendations for Section 25, 26 and 27. Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Mr. Priddy and unanimously adopted, it was 3407 RESOLVED, That the Commission approves the following in Section 25: Change STOP to YIELD for: Arcola at Wadsworth, Capitol and Grantland Cavell at Wadsworth, Capitol and Grantland Cardwell at Wadsworth Capitol and Grantland Remove NO RIGHT TURN 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. on Grantland at Cardwell and Cavell Upon a motion by Mr. Priddy, seconded by Ms. Kirkeey, and unanimously adopted, it was 35-07 RESOLVED, That the Commission approves the following in Section 26: I mtalI lane usage sign on Industrial at Merriman (left lane left turn, right lane straight or right turn( and Pavement markings. Upon a motion by Ms. Kirksey, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was 36-07 RESOLVED, That the Commission approves the following in Section 27: Imi all lane usage sign on Glendale at Merriman (left lane left turn, right lane straight or right turn( and Pavement markings. Post speed limit signs of 30 mph on Glendale between Farmington and Merriman Remove advisory speed of 20 mph on arrow plaques. Remove 30D ft. sign between Farmington and Merriman on Glendale Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was 37-07 RESOLVED, That the Commission approves the request of Emily Connelly, 19274 Shadyside, for a handicap sign. The sign will be erected upon receipt of payment from Ms. Connelly. Upon a motion by Mc.
