OF THE LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION
The 629th Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third floor conference
room A City Hall on Thursday, September 13, 2007 and called to order by Commissioner Kevin Priddy in
the absence of the Chairman.
PRESENT: Commissioners Gordon Draper, Amy Kirksey, Kevin Priddy, Gordon St. ohn and Sergeant
David Stutlt.
Several residents of the Ellen and Perth neighborhood were in attendance bringing their concerns to the
commission regarding the removal of STOP signs at this corner. The Chairman Pro Tem stated he could
not change or add to the agenda to include their request at this meeting. However, their concerns could
be addressed at the next meeting where they would be placed on that agenda. The commission listened
to their concerns and the residents left the meeting.
The minutes of the meeting of August 9, 2007 were reviewed.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey and unanimously adopted, it was
RESOLVED, That the commission minutes for August 9, 2007 be approved as submitted.
The commission reviewed the request received from Majestic Condo Management for Livonia East
Townhouse Condominium for NO PARKING signs on Orangelawn east of Middlebelt. After discussion
with Mr. Michael Pavlechek from Majestic Condo Management regarding the situation, they made the
following resolution.
Upon a motion by Mr. Stlohn, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was
38-07 RESOLVED, That the commission approves the extension of the NO PARKING area to the first
driveway on the south side of Orangelawn east of Middlebelt.
The commission reviewed with Mr. Erik Kuczynski, 18775 Blue Skies, his request for NO PARKING signs
on the west sided Blue Skies from Seven Mile to Dardanella. After discussion with Mr. Kuszynski the
commission stated they would contact the citys forestry department to see if they could trim the trees
at this area and would send a letter to Wayne County, who would be the authority with regard to this
matter.
Upon a motion by Mr. StJohn, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
39-07 RESOLVED, That the commission will take no further action at this time on the matter but will
contact the forestry department to ask them to trim the trees that have overgrown in the area. The
commission will forward a letter to Wayne County regarding this matter and request their response.

The commission reviewed the Traffic Control Survey Recommendations for Section 28 received from
the Police Department and made the following resolution:
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
40-7 RESOLVED, That the commission approves the following recommendations::
1 Remove4 way STOP at Wayne and l ndustrial.
2. Install YIELD for W gyne at Industrial, add CROSS TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP
3. Issue Traffic Control Orders for existing STOP signs at:
i. Otterson Ct. at Schoolcraft
ii. Stamford at Schoolcraft
iii. Surrey at Schoolcraft
n. Concord at Stark
v. Rosati at Stark
vi. Capitol at Stark, eastbou ad
vii. Beacon at Stark, eastbound
viii. Wadsworth at Stark
ix. Boston Post at Stark
x. Autry at Stark
4. Issue a Traffic Control Order for installation of a YIELD sign for Brewster at Boston Post.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
41-07 RESOLVED, That the commission approves traffic control orders for existing signs as follows:
STOP for Commerce at Levan
Speed Limit 35 on Levan between Schoolcraft and Plymouth
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirica y, and unanimously adopted, it was
42-07 RESOLVED, that the commission approves removal of the five NO PARKING signs as follows:
i. 13920 Cardwell
u. Southwest corner of Cardwell and Lyons
in. 13961 Cardwell
w. 133948 Lyons
V. Lyons west of Cardwell on the north side
Upon a motion by Ms. Kirksey, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was
43-07 RESOLVED, that the commission approves removal of 2 HOUR PARKING (green on white) signs at
27730 Buckingham
27928 Buckingham
Removal of emptysign post at 27516 Buckingham
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Ms. Kirica y, and unanimously adopted, it was
4407 RESOLVED, that the commission approves the following:
Removal of NO PARKING and NO OUTLET sign on Westmore and VanCourt
Removal of DEAF CHILD IN AREA signs near 33988 Orangelawn
Upon a motion by Mr. St. John, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was
45-07 RESOLVED, that the commission requests the chairman to send a letter to Wayne County to
remove the NO TURN ON RED signs for Middlebelt at Six Mile.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper seconded by Mr. StJohn, and unanimously adopted, it was
46-07 RESOLVED, that the commission approves the line marking and signs for the left turn on Industrial
between Middlebelt and Merriman.
Upon a motion by Mr. StJohn, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was
47-07 RESOLVED, that the commission approves a traffic control order for NO PARKING signs on both
sides of the street on Industrial between Middlebelt and Merriman.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
48-07 RESOLVED, That the commission approves the installation of SPEED UMIT 25 signs on westbound
Curtis west of Farmington.
Upon a motion by Mr. StJohn, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was
49-07 RESOLVED, That the commission approves the installation of SPEED UM IT 25 signs on Grantland
west of Inkster.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper seconded by Ms. Kirksey, and unanimously adopted, it was
50417 RESOLVED, That the commission approves the installation of a STOP sign and NO OUTLET sign at
the corner of Boulder Pines and Seven Mile.
The Commission accepted the Traffic Improvement Association report regarding Schoolcraft Road
between Newburgh and Inkster from Sgt. Stutlt.
Upon a motion by Mr. StJohn, seconded by Mr. Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was
RESOLVED, That the meeting be adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
