Home My WebLink AboutTraffic Commission 2008-06-12MINUTES OF THE 636th REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION The 636th Regular meebW of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third Floor conference room at City Hall on Thursday, June 12, 2008 and called to order by Chairman Joe Steele_ PRESENT_ Commissioners Gordon Draper, Amy arksey, Kevin Priddy, Jim Policelli, Gordon St John, Cindy QuinwVentura and Sergeant David Stud: Also in attendance _ John Lann, Melanie West The minutes of the meeting of May 8, 2008 were reviewed Set Said presented charges to traffic control orders M32 and 08-36_ Upon a motion by Msarksey, secontled by Mr Draper, and unanimously adopted, d was RESOLVED, That the commission minutes for May 8, 2008 be approved as amended as follows_ 08-32. Om t Richland at Maclntyre/Freemont 08-36 Change_ Remove NO PARKING sign on Sunset north of Henry Ruff to W. Chicago_ The commission discussed with John Lann, 36503 Vargo, his request for a an left turn sign for Six Mile at Levan Mr. Lean stated he made this request because many cars were using his drive as a tum arountl and he felt such a sign would alleviate the problem_ Upon a motion by Mr. Priddy, seconded by Mr St John, and unanimously adopted, d was W-18 RESOLVED, That the commission will take an further when on this request until the traffic bureau completes a study and recommendation of the Six MildLevan area This matter will be reviewed again at that time. Melanie West, 9240 Stonehouse, presenffitl her request for removal of NO PARKING signs on Stonehouse which limit available parking space for members of her family as well as other neighbors_ The commission stated she needetl to get a petition signed by a majority of her neighbors who are in agreement with this request before they could take any action on this matter Upon a motion by Mr Purdy, secontled by Mr Draper, and unanimously adopted, it was 0-19 RESOLVED, That the commission will take an further action on this request until d receives a petition signed by a majority of the neghbors requesting the removal of the NO PARKING signs on Storehouse_ TRAFFIC COMMISSION MINUTES June 12, 2008 Page 2 The commission reviewed a request received tram William Fullmer, 30410 Greenland, for a barrier to be in alletl at the north end of Henry Rug antl Greenland. Upon discussion wRh Sgt Stutlt, tW commission approved the following rasolution Upon a motion by Mr Draper, seconded by Mrs_QuinwVentura, and unanimously adopted, it was 99-29 RESOLVED, That the commission approves installation of lineators, as appropriate, near 30410 Greenland_ The commission reviewed a request received from Liam bleary, 15712 Hunter Grove Condominiums, for a NO TURN ON RED sign on the northeast corner of Newburgh at Five Mile Rd_ Upon a motion by Mr St John, seconded by Mr Policelli, and unanimously adopted, it was 0-21 RESOLVED, That after reviewing the area in question, the commission denies this request for a NO TURN ON RED sign on the northeast comer of Newburgh at Five Mile. The commission reviewed Traffic Control Recommendations regarding Section 19.
