HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2012-10-11MINUTES OF THE 681" REGULAR MEE LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION The 681" Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third floor conference room at City Hall on Thursday, October 11, 2012; it was called to order by Chairman Joe Steele. PRESENT: Commissioners: John Raters, Kevin Priddy, Gordon Draper, Jim Policelli, along with Police Officer: Sergeant John Gibbs and City of Livonia Engineer: Todd Zihncik. VISITORS ATTENDING: Joseph Larkin, 16720 Fulton Pines Court (section 13), Livonia OPEN DISCUSSIONS: Joe Larkin had follow up questions regarding width of streets, no parking signs in cul- de-sacs for emergency fire/rescue vehicles for properties, including his on Fulton Pines Ct. in section 13. Chairman Steele responded and advised appropriately. A check of records indicated that no TCO's are in place for parking restriction in the cul-de-sac. Todd indicated that he would contact Fire Rescue services and have them review any driving restrictions for emergency responding vehicles. Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the September 13, 2012, meeting was reviewed. Upon a motion by John Eaters, seconded by Kevin Priddy, with Gordon Draper abstaining, it was approved by unanimous vote that: 12-103 RESOLVED, the commission minutes from September 13, 2012, are approved as presented. Agenda Item 2: Request received through e-mail from Beverly Womiak to install a pedestrian crosswalk on Curtis at former Taylor School, 36611 Curtis (section 8). Upon a motion by Kevin Priddy, seconded by Jim Policelli, it was approved by unanimous vote that: 12-104 RESOLVED, that pedestrian signs W11-2 and W167Pbe installed on Curtis Street at the former Taylor School. Agenda Item 3: Request received through e-mail from Cheryl Davidson, 19007 Irving Street (section 9) for 25 mph speed limit sign on Irving Street. Upon a motion from Gordon Draper and seconded by Jim Policelli, it was approved by unanimous vote that: 12-105 RESOLVED, to install 25 mph sign on Irving Street jest south of Seven Mile Road. Agenda Item 4: Open discussion regarding traffic concerns (vehicles exiting Stevenson High School). Sgt. Gibbs reviewed conditions with local residents and determined that concerns are being addressed. No further action is necessary. 12-106 RESOLVED, that Chairman Joe Steele sign and approve Traffic Control Order (TCO)12-14. RESOLVED, that the meeting be adjourned at 8:40 pm.
