LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION
The 70P Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third -floor conference room at
City Hall on Thursday, October 9, 2014; it was called to order by Jim Policelli.
PRESENT: Commissioners: Kevin Priddy, Jim Keller, John Katers;City of Livonia Police Officer: Sergeant
Joseph Boitos.
VISITOR ATTENDING: Susan Rooke, 11036 Hubbard, section 34.
Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the September 11, 2014, meeting was reviewed.
Upon a motion by John Eaters, seconded by Jim Keller, it was approved by majority vote that:
14172 RESOLVED, that the commission minutes from September 11, 2014, are approved as
presented.
Agenda Rem 2: Susan Rooke states that a crosswalk exists on Orangelaav between Hubbard and Fairfield
Roads without any identifying signs and, generally, vehicles fail to yield In pedestrians when present There was
a great deal of discussion regarding the crosswallL, such as, is it for school bus; was it striped in error; does it
connect a pathway In the park; did Grant School request this; and volume of pedestrian and vehicle traffic, etc.
It was agreed that we need answers to these question to continue the discussion on removal of the crosswalk or
to properly place identifying signs. Sgt. Boitos and Susan agreed to obtain more information to these and other
related questions and we will continue the discussion during the November meeting.
Agenda Rem 3: Jim Policelli took this opportunity to discuss e-mails received during the past month. Most e-
mail communications were focused on the timing on the traffic signals on the major intersections new I-96. The
timing on these signals were adjusted for the I-96 construction. City Engineer Todd Zilincik and Sgt. Borns will
coordinate changes with Wayne County officials for proper adjustments.

RESOLVED: that the meeting he adjourned at 8:25 pm
