meeting as presented Motion carried
Chairpersons Report:
' Janet Cooper, a citizen of Livonia for 37 years, has been nominated posthumously by
the Woman's Hall of Fame in Lansing for induction The induction ceremony is October
29, 2015 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center Janet Cooper received the
Human Relations Commission Honor Roll Award in 2003 because throughout her life
and career, she was a dedicated advocate for civil rights, fair housing practices,
women's rights, and fair practices with respect to people with disabilities Motion by S
Teeter and seconded by H Klee that the Human Relations Commission purchase a �h
page congratulatory message to Janet Cooper's friends and family in the induction
ceremony booklet at a cost of $200 The deadline to submit the message is September
28, 2015 H Klee will provide ad
9-10-1 Motion made by Livingway and second by Klee to pay for ad in booklet not to
exceed $200 Motion carried
Steve Spreitzer, President and CEO of Michigan Roundtable for Inclusion and Diversity,
has contacted the Human Relations Commission to advise that the City of Madison
� Heights is starting its own Human Relations Commission

New Business
The City of Livonia will offer "Knox Box" Loan by the Livonia Fire Department to
residents on a temporar�r,basis to provide access to their homes by emergency services
Donations for the purchase of additional Knox boxes can be made to the Livonia Fire
Department. The Human Relations Commission will explore the cost of purchasing a
tCnox Box.
There will be a speaker from Rwanda at the Civic Center Library on November 10, 2015
discussing the genocide in Rwanda Motion by S Teeter, seconded by H Klee, to co-
sponsor this event with Madonna University, with no-cost to the Human Relations
Commission Motion carried
On September 21, 2015 an international peace prayer is scheduled at Madonna
University's peace pole This is a multi-faith event.
Motion by H Klee, seconded J Roye, to adjourn meeting at 6 55 p m Motion carried
