LIVONIA HISTORICAL COMMISSION MINUTES
August 19, 2015
The VOTING meeting was called to order on August 19, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Alexander Blue
House
Present: Deanna Brown, Mary Cambridge, Sue Daniel, Nancy Frye, Barbara Mansfield, Gary
Pritchard, Sandi Pritchard and Linda Trewin.
Absent: Ken Bourgan
Also present: Linda Wiacek
Sandi Prichard moved to approve the May 20, 2015 minutes, motion supported by Nancy Frye.
Motion carried.
Mary Cambridge presented the May, June and July Treasurer’s report, which was placed on file.
Linda Wiacek presented her report which included the following topics:
Work by Buckmaster in various buildings:
Hill House events – Tea during the St. Andrew Games, Quester Convention visitation
Flea Market – September 13, 2015
Architect for the Nankin Mills School (Perrinville)
Upholstered furniture
Events: Garden Walk, Victorian Dinner, Trunk Sale, St. Andrew Games, AMC Car Show
Eagle Scout projects
Progress status of building maintenance, painting and events were presented by Chairman Sue
Daniel.

It was moved by Linda Trewin, seconded by Barbara Mansfield that the floor in the Blue Office
be repaired. Motion approved.

Motion Number: 08-02
It was moved by Mary Cambridge, seconded by Nancy Frye that the Farmhand House roof be
replaced and repaired as needed. Motion approved.
Motion Number: 08-03
It was moved by Sandi Pritchard, seconded by Deanna Brown to upholster armless chair in the
Hill House and that up to $800 be allocated for the upholstery work. Funds from the Trust Fund
723-000-981-000
Motion approved. (Mary Cambridge will oversee this project.)
Motion Number 08-04
It was moved by Linda Trewin, seconded by Deanna Brown that $400 be given in assistance to
the Eagle Scout for completion of his Scout Project, the white fence along Victor Parkway.
Motion approved.
Motion Number 08-05
It was moved by Linda Trewin seconded by Mary Cambridge that payment for five commission’s
Office of the Mayor luncheon be approved. Motion approved. (Attending will be Nancy Frye,
Sue Daniel, Mary Cambridge, Linda Trewin and possibly Ken Bourgon.)
Motion Number 08-06
It was moved by Mary Cambridge, seconded by Deanna Brown to allocate up to $400 for
window curtain supplies for upstairs windows of the Bungalow. Motion approved. Funds from
Trust Fund 723-000-931-000. (Linda Trewin will follow through on this project.)
Motion Number 08-07
It was moved by Nancy Frye, seconded by Mary Cambridge that sheer window curtains be
prepared for the inside Sunroom doors of the Hill House. Motion approved. Funds from Trust
Fund 723-000-931-000. (Linda Trewin will follow through on this project.)
Motion Number 08-08
It was moved by Barbara Mansfield, seconded by Sandi Pritchard to transfer the Motor Cities
sign in front of the present Nankin Mills School (Perrinville School) to Greenmead and that the
sign be positioned near the school on the Greenmead property. Motion approved.
Motion Number 08-09
It was moved by Barbara Mansfield, seconded by Sandi Pritchard to install a plaque in the
cement in front of the Flag Pole located in front of the Alexander Blue House in recognition of
contributions from the American Legion Posts # 32 and # 232, the Livonia Historical Society and
Dr. Legel. Motion approved. The Livonia Historical Society will provide funding for the plaque
and installation.

Information:
The Cemetery Walk is planned for Sunday – September 20, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the
Livonia Center Cemetery.
An update of the tour guide schedule for August 2015 was given by Barbara Mansfield.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Alexander Blue House at 6:30
pm.
