HomeMy WebLinkAboutSYNOPSIS - 2011-08-08 th SYNOPSIS OF THE MINUTES OF THE 1,686 REGULAR MEETING LIVONIA CITY COUNCIL – AUGUST 8, 2011 Meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. Present: Laura Toy, Maureen Miller Brosnan, Conrad Schwartz, John Pastor, Brian Meakin, and James McCann. Absent: Joe Laura. MAD #236-11 Resolution by Pastor and Brosnan, unanimously adopted, approving the th FAT minutes of the 1,685 Regular Meeting of the Council held July 18, 2011. President McCann announced a Public Hearing to be held in the Auditorium of Livonia City Hall, 33000 Civic Center Drive, Livonia, MI for the following items: Monday, August 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Lynn A. Gandhi, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, LLP, on behalf of Tina Ding, President of Leapers Inc., is requesting approval of an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate for the purchase of new equipment and machinery for their facility to be located at 32500 Capitol Street, Livonia, MI 48150, as well as for the transfer of a previously approved Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate from 32700 Capitol Street to 32500 Capitol Street. (Industrial Development Overlay District #110) President McCann announced there is new data on Item #9. AUDIENCE COMMUNICATION: None. The following items were received and filed: Communication from the Department of Finance, dated July 20, 2011, re: forwarding various financial statements of the City of Livonia for the month ending June 30, 2011. An e-mail communication from the Department of Finance, dated July 22, 2011, re: past due balances for 36071 Plymouth Road. Letter of Understanding from Universal Advisors, LLC, dated July 12, 2011, re: 36071 Plymouth Road. MAD #239-11 Approving request, submitted by Ying Hong Tang, 26311 W. 14 Mile, FAT Franklin, MI, for a Massage Apprentice Permit in accordance with Chapter 5.49 of the OrdEnf Police Livonia Code of Ordinances, as amended. MAD #240-11 Approving request, submitted by Feng Qu, 846 Canterbury Dr., Canton, FAT OrdEnf MI, for a Massage Apprentice Permit in accordance with Chapter 5.49 of the Livonia Police Code of Ordinances, as amended. MAD #241-11 Approving request, submitted by Xiu Ying Limbright, 1087 Canterbury Cir., FAT OrdEnf Canton, MI, for a Massage Apprentice Permit in accordance with Chapter 5.49 of the Police Livonia Code of Ordinances, as amended. MAD FAT #242-11 Approving request, submitted by Zhiping Xu, 1257 Kirts Blvd., Apt. 212, OrdEnf Troy, MI, for a Massage Apprentice Permit in accordance with Chapter 5.49 of the Police Livonia Code of Ordinances, as amended. MAD #243-11 Approving request, submitted by Tao Song, 20444 Purlingbrook, Livonia, FAT MI, for a Massage Apprentice Permit in accordance with Chapter 5.49 of the Livonia OrdEnf Code of Ordinances, as amended. Police MAD #244-11 Approving request, submitted by Amber Lucas, 3060 Geneva, Dearborn, FAT MI, for a Massage Apprentice Permit in accordance with Chapter 5.49 of the Livonia OrdEnf Code of Ordinances, as amended. Police A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolutions: AYES: Toy, Brosnan, Schwartz, Pastor, Meakin, and McCann. NAYS: None. Meakin left the podium at 8:14 p.m. to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest regarding the next item. #245-11 Resolution by Pastor and Brosnan, approving request from Universal MAD Advisors, LLC to transfer ownership of a 2010 Class C Licensed business with Outdoor FAT Service (1 Area), Dance-Entertainment Permit, Official Permit (Food) and 3 Bars, for the Eng business located at 36071 Plymouth Road. Meakin returned to the podium at 8:47 p.m. th SYNOPSIS OF THE MINUTES OF THE 1,686 REGULAR MEETING 3 LIVONIA CITY COUNCIL – August 8, 2011 #246-11 Resolution by Toy and Pastor, unanimously adopted, authorizing Livonia MAD FAT Housing Commission to acquire foreclosed property at 27621 Pembroke, for $8,915.82, Housing which includes closing costs, through Community Development Block Grant Program. #247-11 Resolution by Pastor and Meakin, unanimously adopted, determining to MAD FAT conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at Livonia City Hall, 33000 Civic Center Drive, regarding proposed Annual Budget for Fiscal Year ending Nov. 30, 2012. #248-11 Resolution by Schwartz and Brosnan, unanimously adopted, referring the MAD subject of the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year ending Nov. 30, 2012, to Finance, Budget FAT and Technology Committee for its report and recommendation. #249-11 Resolution by Toy and Brosnan, unanimously adopted, amending Council MAD Resolution 52-11 to include verbiage in the resolution that approved an Industrial FAT Facilities Exemption Certificate for Quality Metalcraft, Inc. at the Regular Meeting of Assessr Feb. 23, 2011, that is now required by the Michigan Dept. of Treasury. (CR 52-11) Planning #250-11 Resolution by Meakin and Brosnan, unanimously adopted, amending MAD Council Resolution 151-11 to include verbiage in the resolution that approved an FAT Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate for Linear Mold & Engineering, Inc. at the Assessr Regular Meeting of May 11, 2011, that is now required by the Michigan Dept. of Planning Treasury.
