HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLANNING MINUTES 1952-02-04 149 MINUTES OF JOINT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING COMMISSION On February 4, 1952 a joint meeting of the City Council, Planning Commission and property owners of New Detroit Subdivision, together with Mr. Frischkorn, was held at the City Hall, 33110 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan. Upon a motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, it was RESOLVED, that the meeting be transferred from the City Hall to the Court House on Seven Mile Road. The President of the City Council, Harry S. Wolfe, called the meeting to order at approximately 8:25 PM. All City Council members were present. A11 City Planning Commission members were present, except Walter Russell. Mr. Brashear, City Attorney, arrived at 8:35 PM. The President gave the floor to Mr. Frischkorn who asked for an B-2-C zoning and explained the type of two family houses he hoped to build along Inkster Road and Cavell Ave. The President then called on approximately 20 of the property owners and the consensus was for single brick homes on 60 foot lots. All in attendance were against Frischkorn's request except one person. Mr. Wolfe asked Mr. Bentley what the members of the Planning Commission thought. Upon a motion duly made by Robert Maclntyre, seconded by Dallas Hay it was RESOLVED, that the amended Petition #39, Mr. Frischkorn, be denied. Roll was called on the foregoing resolution with the following results: AYES: Coray, Jahn, Bentley, Hay, Maclntyre and Byers. NAYS: none. Thereupon, the President of the City Council asked the Council members for their opinion. Upon a motion duly made by Harvey Jahn, seconded by Jack Whitehead and carried, it was RESOLVED, to concur with the Planning Commission's recommendation. * * * * * * * * * * * *
