Sealed proposals for the2007 LIVONIA CONCRETE PAVING PROGRAM:
Reconstruction Project -Division 1 –Contract 07-CandMaintenance Project-Division 2-
Contract 07-L Lwill be received at the Livonia City Hall, 33000 Civic Center Drive, Livonia,
Michigan 48154 until 2:00P.M.,Michigan Time, on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at which time the
bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The City of Livonia seeks proposals for the following:
The rehabilitation, reconstruction or selected slab replacement of designated City
streets. Work includes removing existing Concrete pavement on reconstruction streets,
or cold milling the edges of the existing Concrete pavement surface on Rehabilitation
Streets or removing Concrete pavement on selected areas, placing new aggregate base,
placing new Concrete pavement, placingnew Hot Mix Asphalt surface, minor
drainage improvements, driveway reconstruction, driveway restoration, surface
restoration, maintaining traffic and Pavement Markings.
The approximate quantities for some of the major items of work for theRECONSTRUCTION
PROJECT-DIVISION 1 are as follows:

The bids for MAINTENANCE PROJECT-DIVISION 2shall be split intoalternate bids-
DIVISION 2A &DIVISION 2B.DIVISION 2Ashall include the eight Selective Slab Repair
& Rehabilitation Streets and WB Schoolcraft (from Newburgh to Golfview) & WB Schoolcraft
(At Farmington).DIVISION2Bshall only includethe eight Selective Slab Repair &
Rehabilitation Streets. The City of Livonia will make a decision and select either DIVISION 2A
orDIVISION 2Bafter the bids have been reviewed.

Proposals, contract forms, plans and bid specifications under which the work will be done may
be obtained, starting Monday, March12, 2007 from the Office of the City Engineer, 33000
Civic Center Drive, Livonia, MI 48154. Prospective bidder's phone number, facsimile number,
street address, and the name of the individual or firm to whom addenda, if any, can be directed
are required. A non-refundable fee of $35.00 is required for the Contract Bid Documents or a
non-refundable fee of $40.00 is required, if mailed.
Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of 5% of the total bid,
payable to the City as security for the acceptance of the contract. A bid bond in the Michigan
Standard Form, issued by an approved Surety Company, may be furnished in lieu of a certified
check.

All bids shall be opened publicly at the date and time specified. Each bid shall be recorded
together with the name of the bidder. Bids shall be in accordance with the requirements of this
notice in order to be deemed “responsive.”
Bids are to be submitted in a sealed envelope, plainly marked“BID-2007 LIVONIA
CONCRETE PAVING PROGRAM: Reconstruction Project -Division 1 –Contract 07-C
and/orMaintenance Project -Division 2-Contract 07-L”and received by the City Clerk on or
before the time and date given above.
No bidder may withdraw his proposal within 120 calendar days after the date set for opening
thereof. The right to accept any bid, to reject any or all proposals and to waive defects in
proposals is reserved by the City of Livonia. Portions of this Contract may be deleted due to
unforeseen circumstances without compensation.
