MINUTES OF THE 140TH SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF LIVONIA
On Tuesday, January 30, 1962 the City Planning Commission of the City of Livonia
held the 140th Special Meeting at the Engineering Building, 13225 Farmington, Livonia,
Michigan. Mr. Charles W. Walker, Chairman, called the special meeting to order at
approximately 8:10 p.m.
Members present: Leonard K. Kane, W. E. Okerstrom, Robert L. Greene, James
Cameron, Rcbert L. Angevine and Charles W. Walker
Members absent : Dennis Anderson, James Watson, Jr. , and Arthur Samuels
Mr. D. R. McCullough, City Planner, was present along with approximately four
interested persons in the audience.
Mr. McCullough: The first item on the agenda is final approval for
Kimberly Oaks Subdivision #3 located between Farmington and Brookfield
and north of Schoolcraft in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 22. Mr.
George Pastor is present.
Mr. McCullough stated this item had been on the agenda for the meeting January 16,
1962 at which time it was determined that before action is taken
on the final approval of the plat, the deed restriction should be
prepared by the Department of Law and signed by Mr. George Pastor.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Greene, supported by Mr. Kane, it was
#1-22-62 RESOLVED that, final plat of the Kimberly Oaks Subdivision #3 located
in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 22 be given final approval,
subject, however, to the following being recorded simultaneously
with the recorded plat:
"Pursuant to Section 15 of Act 285 of 1931, as amended, the
following restriction is hereby imposed upon all lots in the
Kimberly Oaks Subdivision #3 located in the Southwest 1/4 of
Section 22 of the City of Livonia, Michigan. This restriction
shall have the same force of law and be enforceable in the
same manner, with the same sanctions and penalties as though
set out as part of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia:
Detached garages shall not be erected on lots
having a depth of less than 105 feet unless such
garages can be erected without the necessity of
requesting and receiving a variance from the
provisions of the Livonia Zoning Ordinance to
. reduce side yard requirements.

FURTHER RESOLVED, inasmuch as it appears on the records that

tentative approval of said proposed plat was given by
the City Planning Commission on October 20, 1959; and
it further appearing that said proposed plat together
with the plans and specifications for improvements
therein have been approved by the Department of Public
Works under date of December 28, 1961; and it further
appearing that a bond in the $143,000.00 to cover the
installation of improvements has been filed in the office
of the City Clerk under date of January 16, 1962; such
bond having been approved by R. C. Kropf, City Attorney
on January 16, 1962 it would therefore appear that all
the conditions necessary to the release of building
permits have been met and the Building Department is
hereby so notified.
A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Kane, Okerstrom, Greene, Cameron, Angevine and
Walker
NAYS: None
Mr. Walker: The motion is carried and the foregoing resolution is adopted.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Okerstrom supported by Mr. Kane and unanimously
adopted, the City Planning Commission does hereby adjourn the 140th Special Meeting
