MINUTES OF THE 150TH SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF LIVONIA

On Tuesday, August 21, 1962 the City Planning Commission of the City of Livonia held
the 150th Special Meeting at the Livonia City Engineering Building, 13325 Farmington
Road, Livonia, Michigan. Mr. Charles W. Walker, Chairman, called the 150th Special
Meeting to order at approximately 8:10 p.m.
Members present: Edward Milligan, James Watson, Jr. , James Cameron, W. E.
Okerstrom, Milton Ingold and Donald Schubeck and Charles
W. Walker
Members absent: Dennis Anderson, Robert L. Angevine, Robert L. Greene and
Leonard K. Kane
Mr. David R. McCullough, City Planner and Mr. Alan Walt, City Attorney were also
present for the meeting.
The question was raised as to whether or not Mr. Milton Ingold and Mr. Donald
Schubeck were duly constituted members of the City Planning Commission. This was
due to the fact that these men had been appointed by Mayor Moelke but they had not
been approved as yet by the City Council.
Mr. Walt informed the Commission that Messrs. Ingold and Schubeck are duly con-
stituted members of the City Planning Commission and that this is the opinion of both
the City Attorney and the State Attorney General after a careful reading of the law.
He stated further that it was their opinion that these aforementioned gentlemen
hold office until rejected by vote of the City Council.
Mr. McCullough was asked to read the first item on the agenda.
Mr. McCullough: The first item on the agenda is the final approval for the
Taylor Gardens Subdivision located on the West side of
Hubbard Road approximately 850 feet South of Five Mile Road
and 800 feet North of Lyndon in the Northwest 1/4 of Section
22. Special Meeting held on 7/31/62 at which time the item
was taken under advisement.
M . Jack Taylor was present.
After a brief discussion pertaining to the possible condition on Lot #28, Mr.
Okerstrom made a motion to give final approval to the Taylor Gardens Subdivision,
which was duly supported by Mr. Watson and it was
#8-177-62 RESOLVED that, final plat of the Taylor Gardens Subdivision located
on the West side of Hubbard, approximately 850 feet south of Five
Mile Road in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 22 be given final approval,
subject, however, to the following:
The setback of the house on Lot #28 is to correspond with
the setback of the house on the lot immediately to the north, except in
the case the Planning Ccwmission shall later reduce this requirement.
FURTHER RESOLVED, inasmuch as it appears on the records that tentative
approval of said proposed plat was given by the City Planning Commission
on September 15, 1959 and September 13, 1960; and it further appearing
that said proposed plat together with the plans and specifications

for improvements therein have been approved by the Department of
Public Works under date of June 27, 1961; and it furtherappearing
1[10 that a surety bond in the amount of $13,000.00 and a. cash bond in
the amount of $2,000.00 as indicated in Resolution #608-62.of the
City Council, to cover the installation of improvements, .have been
filed in the office of theCity Clerk under date of.August 8, . 1962;
such bond having been approved by Charles J. Pinto, Assistant City
Attorney on August 8, 1962, it would therfore appear that all the
conditions necessary to the release of building permits have been met
and the Building Department is hereby so notified.
A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Milligan, Watson, Cameron, Okerstrom and Walker
NAYS: None
NOT VOTING: Schubeck and Ingold
Mr. Ingold stated he abstained from voting on the basis of insufficient knowledge of
the plat. Mr. Schubeck concurred with Mr. Ingold.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Okerstrom, supported by Mr. Watson and unanimously
adopted, the City Planning Commiss(on does hereby adjourn the 150th Special Meeting
held on Tuesday, August 21, 1962 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
