MINUTES OF THE 179TH SPECIAL MEETING
AND A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
On Tuesday, M arch 24, 1964, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Livonia held a Public Hearing and the 179th Special Meeting at the Livonia City
Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MicIigan. Mr. Edward G. Milligan, Chairman
called the Public Hearing to order at approximately 9:37 p.m. with no
interested persons in the audience.
Members present: Dennis Anderson W. E. Okerstrom Robert Angevine
James Cameron Donald Heusted Edward G. Milligan
Members absent: Milton Ingold Charles Walker Daniel Allen
Messrs. Dan Andrew, Industrial Coordinator and William Strasser, City Engineer
were present.
Mr. Milligan announced the only item on the Public Hearing is Petition Z-638,
by the City Planning Commission on its own motion pursuant to a request
1[ from the Industrial Development Commission, to rezone property located
at the Southwest corner of Schoolcraft and Levan Roads in the North-
west 1/4 of Section 29, from RUFB to M-1.
Mr. Milligan asked if there was anyone who wished to speak on the subject.
Mr. Dan Andrew, Industrial Development Commission, stated that General Motors
has exercised an option and purchased the land. There are two representatives
present from General Motors, Mr. Hibbard and Mr. Hayes.
Mr. Okerstrom wanted to know what type of building they are planning to erect.
Also, what is going to happen with the drain. Mr. Andrew answered the building
will be a Parts Warehouse. Mr. Strasser stated that the drain will be
relocated on the property by the City. Mr. Andrew stated that the City
Council has already authorized a resolution to relocate the drain.
Mr. Milligan stated that Petition Z-638 would be taken under advisement until
April 14, 1964.
Mr. Hayes stated that they still have to go before the City Council and they
would appreciate it if the Commission could study this item tonight. Stated
they have construction deadlines to meet and even a week helps them out.
Mr. Andrew stated that according to the site plan he had seen, the building
will set back approximately 300 feet.

unanimously adopted, it was
#3-44-64 RESOLVED that,, the City Blanning Commission does hereby adjourn the
Public Hearing held on Tuesday, March 24, 1964 at approximately
10:00 p.m.
The Chairman declared the motion is carried and the Public Hearing is adjourned.

At approximately 11:07 p.m Mr. Milligan, Chairman opened the 179th Special
Meeting with no interested persons in the audience.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Angeline, supported by Mr. Anderson, it was
#3-45-64 RESOLVED that, the City Planning Commission which was represented
at a Special Meeting of the Industrial Development Commis' ;.on on
March 23, 1964, discussed a certain petition submitted to the City
Council of the City of Livonia, on March 18, 1964, by one Robert G.
Churella (or Schurella);
FURTHER RESOLVED, a copy of this petition be sent to the
Department of Law for their review and comments as to the possible
courses of action available to this commission in view of certain
allegations made by the petitioner.
A roll ^,all vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Anderson, Okerstrom, Heusted, Cameron, Angevine and Milligan
NAYS: None
Mr. Milligan declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution is
adopted.

unanimously adopted the City Planning Commission does hereby adjourn the 179th
Special Meeting held on Tuesday, March 24, 1964 at approximately 11:25 p.m.
