LIVONIA HISTORICAL COMMISSION MINUTES
March 2, 2016
The VOTING meeting was called to order at the Alexander Blue House on March 2,
2016 at 6:30 p.m.
Present: Deanna Brown, Mary Cambridge, Sue Daniel, Nancy Frye, Barbara Mansfield,
Gary Pritchard, and Sandi Pritchard.
Also present: Linda Wiacek, Stephanie Miner
Sandi Prichard moved to approve the November 18, 2015 minutes, motion supported by
Nancy Frye. Motion carried.
Mary Cambridge moved to approve the notes of the January 20, 2016 non-voting
meeting be accepted as reviewed. Gary Prichard supported.
Mary Cambridge presented the January 2016 Treasurer’s report, which was placed on
file.
Announcements:
Date for the Simmons/Hill House 175 anniversary is Sunday October 2, 2016.
Ideas for a memorial for Ken Bourgon discussed.
Linda Wiacek presented her report including the following:
Fence work hopefully completed in 2016, applied for Quester grants
LCF has awarded $5000 to help re-build the greenhouse
Caretaker has moved into the Parsonage
Shared drawing from the architect for the Nankin Mills Schoolhouse
Queen’s Tea was very well done
Motor City Irish Fest will be 3 days over Father’s Day weekend
Hill House has been un-decorated – next year’s Christmas theme “Toyland”
Blue House is scheduled for plumbing work and a/c in the kitchen to happen in March.
New rentals: 22 in January, 12 in February
Possible Progressive Dinner in the Village
Other business items and discussion:
Commission discussed the lower level of the Nankin Mills School to be dedicated to M.
Suzanne Daniel.
Motion 03/01 it was moved by Nancy Frye and supported by Mary Cambridge that $50
be allocated as the startup fee for the Sunday Tour program in the Hinbern. Motion
Approved.
Motion 03/02 it was moved by Gary Prichard and supported by Mary Cambridge that two
complimentary tickets for Sunday tours be given to clients who book a rental.
Motion 03/03 it was moved by Sandi Prichard and supported by Nancy Frye that
Stephanie Miner be appointed as the Secretary for the LHC for 2016.
Motion 03/04 it was moved by Deanna Brown and supported by Nancy Frye that a request
by given to Mayor Wright requesting the appointment of another commissioner due to the
passing of Commissioner Bourgon.

Next meeting is scheduled for April 20.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
