MINUTES OF THE 729 REGULAR MEETING
LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION

The 729 Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third-floor conference room at
City Hall on Thursday, January 12, 2017; it was called to order by Jim Policelli.
PRESENT: Commissioners: Gordon Draper, Rebekah Farabaugh, City of Livonia Police Officer: Sergeant
Brian Leigh and City of Livonia Engineer Todd Zilincik
VISITOR ATTENDING: Robert Samarian, 11058 Hillcrest, (section 35) and John Grzebik
Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the December 8, 2016, meeting were reviewed.
Upon a motion by Gordon Draper, seconded by Rebekah Farabaugh, it was approved by majority vote that:
17-233 RESOLVED, that the traffic commission minutes from December 8, 2016, are approved as
presented.
Non-Agenda Item 1: Robert Samarian requested handicap signs on his street, Hillcrest, to alert vehicle traffic
for his two hearing-impaired children. Robert himself is handicapped and indicated that both children are under
t always see oncoming vehicle activity. After a brief discussion regarding the
type/wording of the signs along with the location, Sgt. Leigh stated that he would review the area Friday for the
best locations for the signs. Upon a motion from Gordon Draper and seconded by Rebekah Farabaugh, it was
approved by majority vote that:
17-234 RESOLVED, that a W11-9 sign with a supplement sign be installed on Hillcrest
north of Orangelawn and on Hillcrest south of Elmira. Exact locations will be determined by Sgt.
Leigh and Mark from the DPW Sign Shop.
Agenda Items 2, 3 and 4: No open discussion with commissioners.
Chairman Policelli received unanimous permission to sign TCO 16-12.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
