Voting Meeting
February 3, 2016
Present: Ralph Bakewell, Sue Daniel, Kathy Johnson-Bartshe, Kathie Glynn,
Don Knapp

Correspondence: Reviewed
Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the November 4, 2015 meeting were approved as
amended. Amendment: motion to approve headstone repairs from remaining budget
money made by Kathy Bilger.
New Business:
Discussed changes to P.A. 169
Response to Historian Larry Snowden of American Legion Post 32- researching
qualifications for a historic site
Discussed requirements for becoming a Certified Local Government
Reviewed 2016 Voting Meeting Schedule
Election for Secretary on hold for further evaluation
Kator House- for sale sign removed. Voted to send a letter to the homeowner inviting
them to March meeting.
Need for new commissioner- two people have expressed interest. Phone contact to be
made.
Current Issues:
Certified Local District
Resurveying Livonia Historic sites and potential sites
Newburg Cemetery stone restoration- working with Dave Carter on headstone selection
Little Tots vacant- for sale or lease
Livonia Center Cemetery arch repair- increase in costs. Additional work is needed to
repair posts and fencing at cemetery entrance.
Updates:
School House/ Nankin-Mills- meeting with City and architect is scheduled.
Greenmead Complex- Greenhouse restoration and possible grants for work
Fence along 8 Mile-working on grant to finish project
Next Voting Meeting: May 4, 2016
Planning Meetings: March 9 (2nd Wednesday), April 6, June 1, September 7 and
October 5
