HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2017-03-09 st MINUTES OF THE 731 REGULAR MEETING LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION st The 731 Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third-floor conference room at City Hall on Thursday, March 9, 2017; it was called to order by Chairperson Jim Policelli at 7:30 p.m. PRESENT: Commissioners: Jim Policelli, Gordon Draper, John Katers, Joel Turbiak, Jim Keller; and Livonia Police Sergeant Brian Leigh. VISITORS: None Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the February 9, 2017, meeting were reviewed. Commissioner Draper offered a motion to approve the minutes as written and with support from Commissioner Katers, it was approved by unanimous vote that: 17- 236 RESOLVED, the minutes of the February 9, 2017, meeting are approved as written. Roundtable Discussion: Sgt. Leigh commented on the recent windstorm that took place over the entire area. He commented that about half of the city was affected by a power loss and nearly half of the traffic signals were also out of power, as was the police and fire headquarters. 911 service was never affected. A couple structure fires were reported due to fallen power lines. Several trees were down, but both police and fire, along with CERT team members and citizens, all came together to ensure everyone was safe. Sgt. Leigh knew of no injuries due to the windstorm. Chairperson Policelli commented that the State of the City address is being held on March 16 at Laurel Manor at 11:30 a.m. A motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Katers and supported by Commissioner Draper at 8:07 p.m. NEXT MEETING: Thursday, April 13, 2017, at City Hall Respectfully submitted, Jim Keller Recording Secretary
