MINUTES OF THE MARCH 15, 2017
VOTING MEETING
The meeting was called to order on March 15, 2017 at the Alexander Blue House at
6:30p.m.
Present: Deanna Brown, Mary Cambridge, Nancy Frye, Barbara Mansfield, Michael
Marihugh, Stephanie Miner, Gary Pritchard, Sandi Pritchard, Patty Trojan
Also Present: Linda Wiacek & Linda McCann
The November 16, 2016 meeting minutes are approved as written.
The January 18, 2017 meeting minutes are approved as written.
Mary Cambridge presented the December 2016 and January 2017 Treasurer’s reports,
which were placed on file.
Motion 03/1: Barbara Mansfield presented the 2016-2017 General Expenses Report
and a motion was made to approve by Sandi Pritchard and seconded by Deanna Brown
– Motion approved unanimously.
Barbara Mansfield, Chairman, reported: Livonia grant request for the Greenhouse
resulted in $7,000 to support the restoration; there will be a presentation on April 4,
2017 to accept the grant. The DAR will Honor Sue Daniel for the Community Service
Award. There is a Historical Society of Michigan workshop on March 17 regarding
Preparing for the Worst: Disaster Planning for Historical Organizations. The 2017
Commissioner Schedule for Sunday Tours was discussed. Irish Fest: suggestion to sell

water 6-8 Friday, June 16 and Saturday times to be determined. Continued discussion
of the open buildings for the Irish Fest will decided at another time. The Red & White

BBQ will be held Friday July 7 from 7-9pm. Suggestion to make a flyer with tour dates
made by Nancy Frye.
Linda Wiacek reported: There were 2 rentals in February, 10 rentals scheduled for
March and 9 rentals projected in April. Maintenance has been halted due to the
weather. Brooks has been contacted about the hole in the ceiling of the Church and the
water issue in the School House. Signage for the buildings for walking programs is still
being discussed. Handicap entrances to the buildings have been put on hold due to the
weather. Paving of the parking lots have not been confirmed. Moving of the Nankin Mills
School House to its final location needs to be approved by the City Council. The Friends
of Greenmead is a 509A3; they will be able to apply for grants as such.
Past and Future Events:
The Michigan in Perspective History Conference was very informative for the
Greenmead Staff. A seminar was done on Cemetery’s and cemetery walks;
suggestions to do the Livonia Cemetery Walk on a Friday or Saturday later in the
afternoon was made to the Historic Preservation Commission by Linda Wiacek.
Happily Ever After on March 9, 2017 was a success.

Historical Society will be speaking on Belle Isle on March 20.
The Coffee Klatch Luncheon will be April 1, 2017 from 12pm-2pm with a talk on
coffee in the 1950’s.

The Previously Enjoyed Jewelry Sale will be April 30 from 10am-3pm.
April 22, 2017 is the Volunteer Orientation at the Hill House
The Fun Run & Pancake Breakfast is Sunday July 16, 2017; the run/walk will be
done at 9am with pancakes starting at 10am. Breakfast will include pancakes,
sausage, coffee and orange juice.
New Items
Professional cleaning of the Village was researched by Nancy Frye. Hagopian
was discussed for carpet cleaning in the Church and Kingsley House. Mention
was made to schedule a window cleaner ASAP to do the inside and outside of
the buildings.
o Motion 03/2 was made by Mary Cambridge and seconded by Mike
Marihugh to approve up to $1,500 to clean the windows inside and out in
the Shaw, Kingsley, School, Church, Bungalow and Store. Approved
unanimously.
o Motion 03/3 to approve up to $700 for the cleaning of the carpet in the
Kingsley, Bungalow, and Church made by Sandi Pritchard and seconded
by Patti Trojan. Approved unanimously.
o Motion 03/4 to approve up to $1, 500 for building cleaning made by Mary
Cambridge and seconded by Nancy Frye. Approved unanimously.
Status of the accessioning of items, removal of items, and staff involvement is to
be discussed at a later meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:21pm
The next meeting will be April 19, 2017 at the Alexander Blue House at 6:30pm
