Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the March 14, 2019, meeting were reviewed.
An attendance correction was made to reflect Commissioner St. John and Commissioner
Draper being present at the meeting.
Therefore, a motion to approve minutes as corrected was made by Commissioner Katers with
support from Commissioner Draper. It was unanimously approved that:
19-285 RESOLVED, the minutes of the March 14, 2019, meeting were approved as

Agenda Item 2: No Parking signage request on Vargo Street (Section 10)
A resident notified the City/Traffic Commission regarding “No Parking” signs on Vargo Street
going West from Merriman. The concern involved people parking on the street to use the trails
into the woods and Rotary Park, along with speeding from vehicles leaving the area.
Chairperson Policelli noted that this had been requested some time ago and no action was
taken. Furthermore, Sgt. Leigh noted that if vehicles were parked on the street they were doing
so legally and that incidents have been minimal.
Therefore, a motion was made by Commissioner Draper, supported by Commissioner Wood, to
take no further action at this time regarding “No Parking” signage on Vargo Street. It was
unanimously approved that:
19-286 RESOLVED, no further action to be taken on the “No Parking” signs on
Vargo Street in Section 10
Agenda Item 3: It was brought to the attention of the Traffic Commission that in Section 25,
there is outdated signage on Hartel Street, traveling North from Plymouth Road. The current
sign is non-conforming to the MMUTCD and does not properly provide an alert to drivers,
especially semi-truck traffic.
A motion was presented by Commissioner Katers to change the non-conforming sign and to
replace it with a “No Trucks” (R 5-2) and a supplement sign to state “Except Deliveries”. The
sign should be placed on the East side of Hartel Street as you travel North off Plymouth Road.
With support from Commissioner Farabaugh, it was unanimously approved that:
19-287 RESOLVED, the existing, non-conforming sign on Hartel Street, North of
Plymouth, will be removed and replaced with an R 5-2 “No Truck” sign and a
supplement sign to read, “Deliveries Only”
