ed, for the results of the blood on
hand for immediate use have been
little short of miraculous. Recent-
ly a woman's life was saved by
having continuous transfusions
after an operation, when the doc-
tors had nearly given up hope
for her. A young girls pluse stop-
ped on the operating table the
other day. The doctors began
pouring blood into her and, four
days later were able to continue
the operation. In an industrial
accident a few weeks ago, a man
was seriously burned by chem-
icals which destroyed the blood -
making mechanism in the bone
marrow. Not so long ago there
would have been no hope for him,
but today he is recovering be-
cause of the unlimited supply of
fresh blood which he is receiving
from the Red Cross Blood Bank
The whole purpose of this com-

blood to people of Wayne county
when it is needed—today, not to-
morrow or next week, so that no
citizen of this community will
die because his type of blood in
not immediately available. Re-
member; when you deposit a pint
of your blood in this unique bank,
you are depositing life itself for
someone in need.
Town Board Hears
Three Cases, Passes
Two Resolutions
(Continued from page 1)
hors requesting that a sanitary
sewer be constructed in the N 1/2
of Section 11. It was suggested to
them that they put their case
before the Wayne County Drain
Commission.
Al Novik again appearing be-
fore the Board states that it
would be inadvisable for the
township to adopt a taxi cab
ordinance. The Board took the
position that legal advice should
first be secured from the Town-
ship attorney, John Ambrose, be-
fore giving a decision.
Transfer of the D.S.M. license
from Harvey Jahn to Mildred and
Nicholas Vandersloot was ap-
proved. This concerns Jahn's
Market which was recently sold.
Approval by resolution was
given the Wayne county treasurer
to conduct the 1947 Land Tax
Sale of the Delinquent properties
acquired in 1942 and prior. The
allocation is set up as follows:
County - .3292; Township - 1'072;
Schools -5636.
A second resolution was ap-
proved unanimously that all
monies belonging to or held for
the State, County or Township be
placed in the First National bank
in Plymouth.
There is an eloquent silence: it
serves sometimes to approve,
sometimes to condemn; there is
a mocking silence; there is a
