No corrections were brought forth. Therefore, Commissioner Katers offered a motion with support by
Commissioner Farabaugh to approve the minutes as written. It was voted upon unanimously that,
20-319 RESOLVED, the minutes from the meeting held on February 11, 2021 were approved as
written
Agenda Item 2: Newburgh Road/Holmes Middle School Speed Zone
Resident Larry Clark has concerns regarding the visibility of the flashing lights on the “25 mph” speed sign on
Newburgh Road when exiting from the adjacent neighborhoods during school hours. He is requesting if the lights
on the current signs could be installed in all directions.
The Commission commented that while other municipalities have something similar to what Mr. Clark is
suggesting, at this time what we currently have installed is sufficient. A request could be made to the Livonia
School Board for their consideration to add such signals. No further action will be taken at this time.
Updates or Comments
A tentative schedule to return to in-person meetings at City Hall was discussed, potentially beginning with the
th
meeting scheduled for April 8, 2021. If in-person meetings resume, they would be held in the 5 Floor Gallery
inside City Hall to provide for proper social distancing.
The Commission received a thank you note from resident Justin Parsons for their help with the installation of a
“Handicap Person” warning sign last month.
Meeting was closed at 8:22 p.m. with no formal adjournment.
NEXT MEETING: April 8, 2021, Location TBD
