Review of Minutes
Approval of August Meeting Minutes
9.1 B. Calhoun makes a motion to approve minutes from August 4, 2021. K. Waterbury
seconds. All approve.
Current Issues
Alternative roofing materials for Bungalow at Greenmead
9.2 K. Victor-Burke makes a motion to investigate historically accurate, yet lower cost
alternatives for the bungalow roof, such as historic three tab asphalt shingles. This
product was invented in Michigan in 1903, and by 1930 was used nationally. It is therefore
historically accurate for the time period of the bungalow. We would like to have a quote
comparison between this material and cedar shake before making this important decision.
Even though this building has been moved, its local historic listing status actually requires
greater adherence to the Secretary of Interior standards for rehabilitation. K. Waterbury
seconds the motion. All in favor.
Installation of fence at Union/Briggs Cemetery in similar style to other cemeteries
Need more information before voting and making a decision.
Addition of additional utilities connections in the Farm Complex
9.3 B. Calhoun makes a motion to approve additional plumbing and electrical behind the
Simmons Hill barn yard. Exact placement as per electrical and plumbing requirements to
be done in consultation with one or more Historic Preservation Commissioners, in
accordance with best practices. K. Glynn seconds the motion. All approve.
