Review of minutes: Lindsey Hakala, Secretary a) February 17, 2021 Voting Meeting b) March 17, 2021 Non-Voting Meeting Motion 2021-04-02: M. Cambridge made a motion and N. Frye seconded to approve both minutes as amended. February and March 2021 minutes were approved unanimously. II. Treasurer’s Reports: Mary Cambridge, Treasurer a) March 2021 Report of Expenses i. Income: $2,334 ii. Expenses: $114.78 III. Reports: 1. Chairman’s report: a) Gary Pritchard has officially retired from the Historic Commission 2. Commissioner’s report of activities, grounds review & participation: a) Greenmead Supervisor: Emily Tchorz-Fielder i. Maintenance Update:  Interior windows cleaned April; they will return end of May to clean exterior  Screen repaired on Hill screen house.  Geer store front door threshold repaired, and lower portion of the front exterior wall painted. Possibly repainting the entire exterior.  Kingsley House stairwell leading upstairs painted ii. Future Maintenance Projects:  Hill House Sunroom – Met with Randy. Awaiting quote for repair. He believes the water leak is coming from ground level due to improper siding installation on west side of sunroom  Ground penetrating radar completed at Union/Briggs Cemetery. 18 unmarked graves found, temporary markers being made  Meeting House ramp- cleaning and repainting (Jerry DPW)  Meeting with Sharon Carlson (Wade Trim- Master Plan) on Wed. April 28 to start review of the collections and to start discussing current status of collections iii. Budget Status of the Trust Fund: $258,176.10 IV. Review of Events & Planning for Future Events: 1. Storytime Saturday- March 20 a) Event went well, read by Judy Taylor. Full house (with social distancing, of course). 2. Pet Adoption- March 27 a) Many vendors cancelled due to last minute health concerns 3. Peter Rabbit- April 17 a) Went over VERY well; everyone loved Mr. & Mrs. McGregor, brought in a real pet rabbit. Most attendees that responded to survey responded positively 4. Virtual Speaker- April 20 (From Hastings to Home) a) Twelve registrations 5. New Volunteer Orientation- April 28 a) Last check had 3-4 people registered 6. Farmhand’s House Exhibit Tour- May 16, 1-4 p.m. a) Looking for volunteers to check in pre-registered guests (outside if weather permits) and docent. Only 8 guests permitted every 20 mins. 7. Flea Market- June 6, with modifications a) Pre-sale at Meeting House during the week? b) Large discussion regarding restrictions from COVID. Current maximum set at 125 cars at a time. V. New Business 1. Commission goals aligning with Vision 21 a) 4 goals- approve and share with the Mayor: some short term, some longer term Motion 2021-04-01: N. Frye made a motion to approve the goals as written below. M. Cambridge seconded and it was unanimously approved. i. Engage visitors in positive learning experiences about Livonia’s history through tours and programming ii. Expand outreach to schools, libraries, and non-profits through presentations, publications, or traveling exhibits iii. Develop exhibits to reach a broader audience and attract new visitors to Greenmead iv. Transfer documentation of artifacts from paper to digital records utilizing Past Perfect and providing online access to our archives. 2. Gary Pritchard has resigned from the commission. 3. Volunteer Vaughn Stecker passed away this past weekend. th 4. Proposed a joint meeting with Historic Preservation on July 14 in lieu of our st scheduled non-voting meeting on July 21. 5. Next meeting will resume the scheduled start time of 6:30 P.M. Meeting Dates 2021: th st ththth Voting: February 17, April 21, June 16, September 15, October 20, and th November 17 thththstth Non-Voting: January 20, March 17, May 19, July 21, August 18, and th December15 Adjournment: D.
