MINUTES OF THE 783 REGULAR MEETING
LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION

The 783 Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the 5 Floor Gallery of
City Hall on Thursday, December 9, 2021; it was called to order by Chairperson Jim Policelli at
7:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Jim Policelli, Jim Keller, Yara Racine, City Engineer Todd Zilincik, and Sgt. Scott
Sczepanski of the LPD Traffic Bureau
ABSENT: John Katers, Rebekah Farabaugh, Gordon St. John
VISITORS: None
Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the meeting held on November 11, 2021 were reviewed
No corrections were brought forth. Therefore, a motion was made by Commissioner Racine,
supported by Chairman Policelli, to approve the November minutes as written. It was voted
upon unanimously that,
20-339 RESOLVED, the minutes from the meeting held on November 11, 2021 were
approved as written
Agenda Item 2: Parking Situation near Bentley Field ( brought forth by resident Whitney Bayer)
There is no update at this time.
The LJAL has not responded to any requests regarding the parking issue when the Parks and
Recreation Superintendent, Ted Davis, has attempted to make contact.
Email and Other Communications
Brookfield Street (Section 27) is having issues with semi’s parking overnight and the trailer
portion blocking the light of sight for other drivers and pedestrians. Sgt. Sczepanski stated that
enforcement will take place
A resident on Patton Street (Section 31) stated that when cars are parked on both sides of the
street, emergency vehicles have a difficult time getting through, if they are able to at all.
Chairman Policelli noted that the Commissions typical process for placing signs includes
canvassing the neighborhood and getting signatures from all the residents in favor of placing
signage. No action was taken at this time.
Sgt. Sczepanski reported that the developer of the Shake Shack on Haggerty Road was
directed by the Planning Commission to have the Traffic Bureau of the Livonia Police
Department review the site plan for its traffic design. Sgt. recommended that they do not allow
left turns onto Haggerty from the establishment. The Traffic Commission agreed.
Traffic Control Orders (TCO) from previous meetings were signed by Chairman Policelli.
Meeting was adjourned without a formal motion.
