Meeting Minutes
Monday, June 26, 2022, 6:38 p.m.

Present: Bosak, Duggan, Gilligan, Karczewski, Kent, Mang, Sercu, Spence,
VanDeven
Absent: Moore, C. Spurling, D. Spurling, P. Valentine and J. Valentine

Guests: No guests
Motion 6-26-1 made by Kent and seconded by Gilligan to approve the Minutes of
the meeting held on May 23, 2022. Approved. Received and filed.
Treasurer’s Report: Discussion held on inter-City donations. Budget for Kids’ art
activities at the summer concerts was confirmed to be $1000.
Motion 6-26-2 made by Karczewski, seconded by VanDeven to receive and file.
Approved.
Visiting Artist Series in Fine Arts Gallery/City Hall Gallery
Bosak/Moore – Gallery: Three Cities exhibited for the month of June. Mang
brought in sculpture boxes. Arrangements being made through the Library for
DPW to pick up remaining old boxes. Mang will be helping with exhibit activities.
September confirmed as Commissioners’ exhibit. Discussion held on process for
sales.
Motion 6-26-3 made by Duggan, seconded by VanDeven to eliminate the
commission charged for monthly exhibits and to have the artists paid directly by
the purchaser. Approved.
P. Valentine - City Hall: Absent. No report
Fine Arts Exhibition – Karczewski: All dates confirmed: September 2 postmark
deadline, September 12 notifications, September 24 delivery date, October 1
opening, October 14 reception, October 22 take down. Change in jurist not
allowed. Karczewski and Duggan to contact Maryann Wilkinson.

MFTH – Duggan: First concert to begin in July 7 with the Rod Stewart Tribute
band.
Scholarships - C. Spurling: Absent. One student still needs to provide paperwork
before check can be cut.
School Incentives - P. Valentine: No activity.
Grants – Mang: Will send thank you note to LCF for grant. Waiting for price list
for park instruments before Committee will meet. Mang would like to expand her
role by doing fundraising for support of the arts in the City. Keppen advised that
correspondence must be reviewed by the City. Plaques being installed on current
instruments this week.
Facebook - D. Spurling: Absent. VanDeven to contact D. Spurling to engage in
social media efforts.
New / Ongoing Business
Musical Instruments – Updated above.
Zonjic Concert – Bosak: Final report to be submitted at July meeting. Follow up
with Zonjic regarding their ticket sales.
Kids Concerts – C. Spurling: Kits secured.
Other: Gilligan suggested Arts Commission participate in 2023 Pride celebration.
Motion 6-26-22-4 made by VanDeven, seconded by Mang to adjourn at 7:36.

2022 Meetings and events – General Meetings to be held at the Rec Center at
6:30 p.m. Dates: January 24, February 28, March 28, April 25, May 23, June 27,
July 25, August 22, September 26, October 24, November 28, December 12. *Due
to Covid-19 meetings may be changed to ZOOM meetings on these dates and
times. Zonjic concert May 7. Children’s Concerts 6:30 Tuesdays July 5-August
16. Music from the Heart 7:00 pm Thursdays July 7 – September 1. Shakespeare
in the Park: July 29, 30 and 31.
