HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-11-06 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD November 6, 2023 The Regular Meeting of the Water and Sewer Board of the City of Livonia, Michigan, held on Monday, November 6, 2023 was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Brett Gierak. Approval of Minutes dated October 2, 2023 Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Candy Little #WS 6462 11/06 RESOLVED, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held October 2, 2023 are hereby approved. AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jones, Jackson, Little 2. Letter dated October 31, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Jim Ross, 15407 Richfield Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6463 11/23 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Ross the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective November 6, 2023 a Six (6) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated October 23, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Carol Leach, 27815 Six Mile Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6464 11/23 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Leach the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective November 6, 2023 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2024 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 4. Letter dated October 11, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Brenda Moore, 31717 Bretton Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6465 11/23 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Moore the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective November 6, 2023 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated October 30, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Inza Bryant, 14309 Cardwell #WS 6466 11/23 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the November 6, 2023 meeting. Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Valerie Jackson A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 6. Letter dated October 11, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Brenda Moore, 14229 Brookfield Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6467 11/23 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the November 6, 2023 meeting. Letter dated October 31, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Gina Love, 8842 Merriman Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6468 11/23 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective November 6, 2023 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated October 11, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Lashondra Oglen, 14870 Lyons Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6472 11/23 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective November 6, 2023 a Six (6) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD November 6, 2023 if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2024 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. Letter dated October 17, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Ashton Carpenter, 29178 Perth Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6477 11/23 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective November 6, 2023 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. At the request of the petitioner, the account at 29178 Perth will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the Twelve (12) month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2024 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. Letter dated November 2, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Sandra Crutchfield, 35195 Parkdale Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6478 11/23 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective November 6, 2023 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD November 6, 2023 if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account.
