The 814 Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the 5 Floor Gallery of City Hall
on August 8, 2024; it was called to order by Chairperson Jim Policelli at 7:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Jim Policelli, John Katers, James Keller, Yara Racine, Gordon St. John, Tom Wrenbeck,
Ofc. Chris Klott of the LPD Traffic Bureau & City of Livonia Engineer, Todd Zilincik
ABSENT:, Rebekah Farabaugh
VISITORS: Callie Clark, James Lin
Agenda Item 1:
The minutes from the July 11, 2024 meeting were reviewed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Katers, supported by Chairperson Policelli, to approve the July 11,
2024 minutes as written. It was voted upon unanimously that,
20-394 RESOLVED, the minutes from the July 11, 2024 were approved as written
Updates and Discussion
The continuation of the commission discussion on traffic calming actions in and around the city. Todd
shared with the commission an estimate for painting markings at 6 Mile and Levan. The estimate was
$2,800. Commissioner Katers shared several key areas that could benefit from such markings and some
ideas of how those areas should look. The difficult hurdle is finding the funding for this project. It was
discussed to seek grant funding. It was also noted that the key areas should be cataloged and
prioritized, should funding become available.
Motion to Adjourn – Motion to adjourn at 9:15 p.m. was made by Chairman Policelli, with support from
Commissioner Wrenbeck, with no objections
